One Month In
Well, I'm one month in here at WA. It's Monday morning and at the moment, right this second I'm feeling a little discouraged. I have a .com website, an about me page, a privacy policy page, and one other page with content, (about 1000 words), and I have 3 other pages with no content yet.
For whatever reason I also have a page, that doesn't appear on my list of pages, that appears to be related to posts but does not show up on my website as a sub heading like something marked "Home"
Now, I have did have a page marked home when I first started this website but going through the training I noticed that, in Kyle's training there was no page marked "Home" so I went to my pages list and deleted the page marked "Home" from the list, but still seem to have this extra page. Don't know what to do about it or if it is even anything I should be worried about.
On the other side of things, I have 151 followers and am following about 160, and yesterday my rank here at WA rose to bellow 600, which is pretty good considering where it was when I first started here and I have written a half dozen blogs.
I guess my biggest issue right now is how overwhelming this journey is, The learning, the trying to figure it out, the asking Questions on live chat and not always getting an answer that helps, (not the biggest issue, there is a lot going on there), I'm not saying that I'm giving up because that is not an option. I signed up for a year and, if nothing else I need to prove TO MYSELF that I can do this.
Another issue I'm having is the large amount of notifications that, for some reason, I feel obligated to acknowledge or respond to. I feel like I am not getting anything else done. Bottom line is I am having a hard time prioritizing and I'm probably overthinking this WAY TOO MUCH. Anybody else having this struggle???
The answer to that Question is, Yes there a lot of others having that same struggle, and I am not alone. The other answer to that Question is, Yes, but we have to work through it, with the help of the community, and in order for that to happen we have to talk to the community and ask for that help.
This is long enough and I have no idea where this is going, but If you are new and struggling I would like to know, and if you have been here for some time I would like to know how you were able to work through these issues and move on to a better place in your head.
This sounds like a pity party but this is what's on my mind today.

It seems like we have similar issues with organizing our tasks and staying motivated. On the plus side, responding to all those notifications is probably why your rank is so high (low?) so quick. I'm stalled a couple hundred higher than you - but I don't actively follow... must be why. Anyways, keep up the good work!!!
That's what the training is all about. Just follow the step by step lessons and ask Questions when you need to and you will slowly but surely figure it out. We are all on your side here at WA and will help in any way we can. ROCK ON. Will follow you and keep in touch.
I am new to all of this, I am just reading and learning from other people there is so much to learn I'm not going to worry about doing things I know nothing about so I learn from others and then when I'm ready to go on the fast track I will be a little more prepared.
WordPress has a default front page that is called a blog roll. This will not show up unless you actually created inside your menu structure.
Under appearance>> menu, create a custom link with the title Home. Putting your main URL for the link. Save your menu and you should be good. WordPress Menus Version 3.6 Upgrade
If you go into your account settings, you can change the amount of notifications that you receive. Account settings are found on the lower left of the menu or under your picture icon on the drop down.
