Thank you Craig. Your answer is certainly interesting - but at the same time leads to 2 questions! (1) How do you define the difference between "quality" (for my Blogs) and "value" (for an email campaign)? and (2) Why shouldn't or can't I get someone to take action from my Blog, and only from an email campaign?!
Looking forward please to your reply.

In response to question one. Trust needs to be built first before anyone will take action. Experts say a person will not take action until they have developed trust and that might be on the 4 or 5 visit.

That trust is usually earned by giving quality information that can solve a problem ie. Blogs. Getting someone to take action from a email is a lot harder, it's better to lead them back to your website in the beginning to build their trust in you. How does someone know you are bringing value from an email campaign "they don't", if they don't know anything about you.

In response to question two, you can get someone to take action from your blog, this gets back to the trust issue, also this can be done with an email campaign leading that person back to your blog. After all you want your website to rank as high on the search engines as possible, and you want that reader to keep coming back.

Build trust takes time and patience, but it will all pay off in the end.

How should I differentiate between content that I put into my Blogs to what I should put into an email marketing campaign? i've read the "Customer Cycle" Tutorial (great tutorial!) but this important point is not discussed there!

In your blogs you should be putting in content that gives quality to the reader, Whereis in your email campaigns it's more about getting someone to take action, but at the same time giving value.

You can try as well the plugin Shortcodes Ultimate, which gives a comprehensive solution. You can find a good tutorial by Kim Doyal on Youtube.
