We are in the process of improving our website to maximize conversions for affiliates. Right now it converts quite well, but we want it to convert "the best" and because of this we are going to be implementing many improvements. Some things that you are going to see coming to the website in coming weeks is: -live activity within WA -more relevant imagery -perhaps a video -testimonials -improved buttons BUT, we are not stopping there. I want you to spend a minute and head over to www.wealthyaffiliate.com and let us know how YOU think that we can improve our website. Higher conversions = More affiliate commission for you (our ongoing goal). :) Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Empower Network and MLSP both are directed mainly for MLM or NETWORK MARKETING. They say you can direct their training to any business but not true. Their hidden agenda is list building for MLM.
WA is geared to real product and infor expansion using several marketing techniques that can build you a significant income all by your self without having to always baby sitting an ever eroding downline

We have an actual SERVICE. We are an education, we are the tools, we are equivalent to a University that teaches Internet business but we have the tools and the experts available as well and you can earn while you learn.

MLM's often times don't really have a product in which case they are borderline pyramid scams.

I'd like to know the difference between WA and other programs such as empower network and lead system pro for example.

There are many reviews out there. We wont' offer reviews versus other programs in the industry our actual website, but as I said there many reviews for products like this and there are definitely a lot of reviews about Wealthy Affiliate out there.

I do agree that we can do a better job of comparing WA to the rest of the industry which is very easy to do with positive results.

This is tough because everyone has good ideas on how to possibly make WA better. Here goes from a veteran direct sales expert in home improvements.

When I found out about WA I was a roughed up abused newbie sucker that was robbed by a few internet vampires calling themselves Gurus.

I was looking for a "beacon of light" in this internet jungle. From first glance WA did not look like that "safe place" where you could give a sigh of relief and say "this is what I have been looking for and this is where I will stay and learn to build my internet empire."

If it hadn't been for someone else encouraging me to give it more time to see what was really hidden in WA I may have left.

I feel WA needs 2 things desperately.

1) A professionally done introduction video that excites and gives hope to the new visitor. You must answer that question that is always asked
"Why should I choose you to do business with in lieu of all the other choices available to me?"
I want to be wowed when I see the introduction video - because it makes me see and feel the value up front of this amazing company and what it has to offer. But it has to be done right. Kyle you say we are the best in the world at what we do and I believe you but the world needs to see it quickly not later. They may not hang around that long.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE AVERAGE PERSON LEAVES IN 5Months---THEY SHOULD STAY FOR YEARS.

2) The training videos because they are always an hour in length could be sometimes a little longer to get all the information out. There have been times that other members have made comments that there is more to that particular topic. The details are paramount, and a small missing piece of the very important puzzle can stop your forward motion in its tracks. Especially for a beginner!

3) Even though the home page header visual is distorted, I understand that you're trying to convey a university atmosphere. Maybe a more contemporary image would work better. Also the 3 columns of text under that would read better if the copy were flush left and not centered.

I love WA and I will be here for a long time I just want the world to know it up front quickly and not have to stumble on to it.

rich9 I would like to comment on the SPLASHDUCK point "If you created this site and 10 people joined and never contributed and any content, How much WA be worth in this case? " I am one of those people and it is not that you and Carson have not worked on me. I would like to have those 10 people because I would benefit with annual dues on the WA program. I know nothing about how the the program documented, but I would suggest that the WA member be able to contact the new member by email to see if had any questions because the member has a very important financial interest. Since I am one of those persons It would have been very helpful back when I joined in March 2009. There may very good reasons for not having that contact, but I would have at the time I enjoyed meeting such a contact because at that
time it would have been less formal.

less formal.

I am glad that you made this contact. Some people would prefer to "lurk" and not contribute, whereas others are naturally contributors and love to ask questions, offer help and communicate on a regular basis.

In saying this, those that tend to put up their hand in class when they have a question are those that have the answers and move forward much quicker (and tend to help others as well).

Kyle, I think that everyone who is a member of this site must be able to earn some money even if it's only enough to cover their membership fee of 47 dollars per month. I know you are working to that end and I'm not going to say anything about the way the site looks and all that stuff because everyone else is focused on that and you've got it looking great. It's the best member/forum type site of it's kind in the whole universe. we all know that. And I'm being serious, not sarcastic.

I propose that if a member has been visiting WA every day and adding quality content then that must be counted in some way in terms of a money value.

Imagine if you created this site and 10 people joined but never published any original content. How much would WA be worth in that case? Not very much money value at all.

OK, so imagine 10 people join and start publishing original content, create links to other quality authority sites related to their original content. How much is WA worth now in terms of money value?

You know that it takes individual people creating original content, making good connections to other relevant sites to make a website worth what it's worth. You know more about this than I ever will so there are other factors that no doubt add value to a website.

My point is pretty clear though I would think. Give financial reward to those who create quality original content. I know you're giving state of the art training but then you send us out in the wilderness that the internet is and we hope that our link building and content publishing efforts will pay off.

I have got two people from my efforts because of your training and my acting on your training. Neither have done a thing. My "Credits read 0 and my "Invited" reads 2.

Iv'e worked at this site just about every day and published at SA. about 20 articles now.

My writing has been original, within the rules at SA so that is worth a value.

You've taught me how to find and use keywords and Iv'e been adding awesome keywords to both WA and SA. Those keywords used along with original content, just as you taught me to do, has added money value to your business.

My blogs here at WA have been reasonably plentiful. Sometimes off the topic of internet marketing but Carson kindly corrected me and I've adjusted and started writing more at SA again. I'm trying, I'm making an effort to really complement all your requirements.

But I still am paying 47 dollars per month and not earning a bean. I began my Premium membership back in July 2012.

Somehow, whether via the ranking system or via the creation of WA blogs or the writing of SA articles or via having to complete designated training members should and could be assigned 2 premium members under them so that their own fee is covered.

If a member has fulfilled your predetermined requirements and a period of six months has passed and the member is still barren in terms of having premium referrals under them or just one then either one or two premium members should be placed under them so that their 47 dollars is now covered.

Now, this is where I think WA can benefit from such an arrangement and grow even more.

The member now has 47 dollars per month that was being paid to WA for that first six months so they are conditioned to be investing 47 per month into a business plan. With that money freed up now the member could re channel that money into advertising WA using awesome low competition keywords thereby drawing in more new members, a percentage of which will go premium.

The more you can get members out of the "barren" rut the more you free them up to channel money in many ways to improve what they do with their business.

I think this would require a small re distribution from those who have a surplus to those of us who are "barren." Of course I have no idea of how much could be sliced off the cream but I have an inkling that no one would be hurt by this arrangement and WA will grow all the more. More members will have more incentive and gain a great feeling of accomplishment as they sense themselves becoming more and more qualified to have Premium members assigned under them.

I think that it can't just be all about training and hard work. There has to be the promise of something tangible at a set time in the future. This is the element of reaching and energizing the emotions and mental resources in the human make-up. Without that you will continue to loose people in my opinion.

I know you're trying your very best to improve WA, that's how come I'm on this page as you've given me an opportunity to speak.

These are my opinions. I have a lot of respect for you Kyle and for Carson and you've built a fabulous business here and already shared a great deal with a lot of people so congratulations on all your achievements.

That's all I have to say for now.

Thanks for the feedback Robbie!

I do think you have some very good ideas and we do have a program in place that already rewards those that created content, although not everyone knows about it. It is an initial variation of what you are talking about. If you create content and it gets indexed in Google (as much of our content does), you get full credit for any referrals that the content generates.

However, at the same time this is a business and a platform that costs a lot of money to operate. Paying people to use your service and to contribute as a starter member would not make sense. It is like owning a university and inviting free students and paying them if they do their homework.

The "teachers" will be rewarded more and more as the system progresses and we actually have a "credit" system in place for people that add quality training. They pay out $5 per level achieved and many people here at WA are paid out regularly within this system.

So there are several things in place already that reward people for their contributions. Yes, these will continue to evolve and there will be new opportunities for people that contribute, and these will come. :) I do appreciate your feedback and a lot of what you have discussed is already available with a bunch more time come as we move through 2013!

That's great Kyle, I see what you mean about paying people to do their homework, yeah that doesn't make sense. But thanks for the opportunity to express my thoughts and I'm looking forward to your visions for WA becoming realities through 2013.

Overall, I think the home page looks like it would convert pretty well. Something I think that could be improved is the background image, as it looks a bit stretched horizontally.

Something else I noticed is that the 'Training' section on the left includes an image of a computer screen, but it still may not be completely clear that the training provided includes webinars or videos. I think that as people probably learn best visually, they likely find a lot of value in video training. So maybe presenting the fact that 'live' webinar training is included at WA would be a nice converter.

And as was mentioned below, a video on the home page might be a good idea. Perhaps a walkthrough of what is on the other side after joining, complete with footage of the live chat, some clips of the webinars and a list of the webinars included. Also, mentioning the Bootcamp along with the fact that it includes a live study of a website you are making. These 3 elements are part of what makes WA great, so a demonstration of how they are offered to members might be in order.

Hi Kyle. Not a lot to add, the site pulled me in to find out more and sign up. I just spent some time looking at the background picture trying to figure out what everyone was doing. Are there thoughts of changing that? Maybe a picture from Vegas next year :)

We could definitely test a new background image and do some split tests to see how something else converts.

I may be wrong but I'm thinking as part of the signing up for a Starter Membership you can put a video in front of people that explains to them how to quickly set up their account and then leads them to the getting started training.

I'm always seeing people in the chat that just signed up and the big questions is still where do I start even though it's plastered all over the place and seems obvious to those of us that have been here for awhile.

The problem is that WA is so huge and there is so much to take in when you first get here that it get's lost in the mix for them.

We have actually added that as part of the sign-up process now Ty, people that join WA are put into a video directly after the create account page....that introduces them to where they are within the system. Then it takes them directly to lesson 1 of the course that "tasks" them to watch the full WA walkthrough.

The people that ask what WA is and how to get started are simply not interested in reading and there will always be a small number of folks like this out there that "don't want to read or do anything but want success!".

In that case just get a 6 pound sledge hammer and smack them on the foot lol

LOL! We have really streamlined the sign-up process and now it is time to dedicate the same flow the website. Thanks for your feedback Ty and if you have any other "insights" of how we could improve the website or make it more appealing, do let us know.

As I said, the website does convert quite good already, but we always know we can do better!

1 thing that comes to mind is I know we can share videos here but It would be nice to be able to embed them onto our site. I'm not talking about the Wabinars I know you can't do this because of the starter and premium accounts.

The training videos you guys make are awesome and I would love to be able to embed them on my site. Thanks

We are talking about the external WA.com website. However, we will be offering a set of videos that folks will be able to upload and embed in their sites, it just takes a bit of time to develop a system for this (we are not interested in a hack job).

I'm scratching my head. Many seeing WA through my blog aren't opting into the education...just yet. They're watching and using initial offers. Those of us who know that the education is the real key to setting up and operating successful campaigns are the ones who faltered online by searching for every imagineable & false "fix". So we came here. I use the word "fix" conservatively because many think that the next latest and greatest solution for IM'ers will be to get that fix. In truth, it's the work we do ...by shifting others lives. I wholeheartedly believe in WA and its strong approach. I can do something radical and ask people..."Here's this place, you've sampled it..., what's not here that you'd like to see and use?" Too many people online just do NOT have a realistic business approach -- which is -- be patient, be persistent, do what's right for all involved, and keep it going strong. If WA can't make an impact, then other places of online learning can't either. EXTERNAL SURVEY WITH ON-LOOKERS MIGHT BE ONE IMPORTANT KEY?

Kyle Premium
I do agree, people are looking for a quick fix but people are often times exposed to so many of the "scams" that they are looking for something that will finally help them. That is where WA comes in. I do agree that we can angle our marketing more towards those people.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Kyle,
To be honest I have never really "looked" at the site I joined and just got on with it. Now I look at it with learned eyes my immediate thoughts are: It looks very business like, but bland, it lacks excitement and does not indicate any real sense of great community and the fun element, I have to look deeper to find that, so to a newcomer it could seem a bit, same old, same old! Just my humble opinion!

Hi Kyle,
I reply to your request!
If I saw the site for the first time I would think I had to do a lot of study just from the picture alone (I know I would have to but it is sort of in my face) The top logo states business community this also clashes with the picture below (class room) the navigation buttons at the bottom are bland, functional, but not exciting perhaps a little colour?
When I use the navigation buttons the pages below lead me to think that I need to know quite a bit to get this site to work for me a "complete newbie" for example when I go to "Tools" the first thing I see is "Key word and market research tool" that may mean nothing to me at this stage where as if the first thing I saw was "The World's Easiest Website Builder" I would sit up and think Wow then read the rest.

Again with training: Six-Stage "Online Entrepreneur Certification", means nothing to me but : "24 Hour Per Day, Worldwide Training" would.

Coaching and support are fine but would I have got that far?

Again services are fine but only if I got that far.

I hope I don't appear negative as I think overall its a great site but with a little tweak here and there making it super newbie friendly I think it would be Fantastic !

Oh yeah, defiantly a short video walk though from your good selves, grab the newbie by the hand sort of thing and give advanced info for those who are some way further along the road.
