Yes. You read that correctly.

Carson and I have for a long time really disliked the price point at Wealthy Affiliate. Anything that ends with a $7 tends to group us with all of the "products" out there and we don't want to stand side by side with ANY company within this industry.

Before you panic here, the price increase is NOT going to involve you if you are already a member and it is very nominal. We are considering moving our price from:

$47 per month

to.. ===>

$49 per month

For our premium membership. It is only a $2 increase, but it moves us away from a price point that we have always disliked and separates us from an industry with companies that we distrust and want to disassociate from even more.

We feel that $49 feels more like a "service" than a product and it is something that people would feel more comfortable (subtly) in investing in. We know our service far exceeds this in value and it is only going to get better.

By the way, the $359 yearly membership would remain unchanged along with the first month $19 offer.

This will also reflect in affiliate commissions as well, with the $49 paying $23.50 (instead of $22.50).

Would love to get everyone's feedback and perspective on this. Thanks!

Not a problem here. With all the additions you and Carson have made another 2 bucks is NP. I like your rationale because I've seen the number 7 associated with scammers. Same with the word "empower". I would rather be distinct.

Thank you for this. Whenever I write about 'avoiding scams', I start to write "avoid anything that's $47, $97, $197, or $297...then I remember that WA is $47. LOL. I think this is a good move.

Totally agree with you Nathaniell, it is been something that has bothered us for quite some time and it is time I think that we need to change this. It would be a very minor change for affiliates and from our tests, it will only increase comfort level (and dissassociate us from this industry that is riddled with $7 price point scams).

So when is this price change going to take effect? I personally don't see this as being a problem. I am paying yearly so this won't affect me at all. This is just another reason why everyone should take advantage of the yearly membership if they can afford it because it just makes more sense and it is highly discounted. Thanks for keeping us informed about these changes Kyle.

We will let everyone know. It is just a "strong idea" at this point, we have a new order page coming and it will likely also be rolled out with this.

Don't a lot of these scam companies use 9 in their price points as well? I know the 7 is used by a lot, but I have seen 9 used as well by scams. So, for me I see no difference as far as the psychological impact. Not sure what the magic number is nowadays with people trusting online programs less and less.

Yeah, there are scams at every price, it just seems that this industry has stuck to the $7 price points and the rest of our price points end in $9, so I think it will add uniformity in this respect as well.

$19 - First month offer
$49 - Regularly Monthly Price
$359 - Yearly Price

Yes, it would make it more uniform for sure.

Well if you want to move away from the $7 price point you could always change it to $45 ;)

To be perfectly honest though another $2 a month - or under 6 cents a day - for the value offered by WA does not make the least bit of difference.

If anybody can think of any other program or product which offers the value that WA offers I would love to hear it! It is still the bargain of the century in my opinion.

Yeah, a 6 cent price increase!!! LOL

Thanks for the kind words and glad you approve of the increase, although very nominal, all member feedback is very important to us.
