There is a simply technique that I am going to run you through in todays training. It is going to be using the native Tools => Export function within Wordpress. Backing up your website is very important and there are many reasons for this. It is one thing to trust your web host (which you can definitely do here at WA), however it is another thing to have to put faith in 3rd party plugins and themes. The wrong one can break your site and if you don't have your content backed up, it could be devestating. Check out today's lesson here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wa-affiliate-bootcamp-content-keywords-and-conversions/backing-up-your-website If you have any questions about backing up your Wordpress website, please leave them below.

Just did backup using the Export function within WordPress. Awesome to know I also have a local copy of the back up with me. Thanks Kyle!

I did it quick and dirty and it worked like a charm. Having backed up my files gave me the confidence to change my theme and I'm so glad I did. I love my new theme (which I backed up right away). Great lesson...moving forward.

We also back up websites here at WA (on our end) so you have full redundancy. Good to have a personal back up of your files as well though, adds that additional peace of mind.

Great training!
I tried to do the full backup to DropBox as per Welshy's training and everything went until I tried the "run now". I keep on getting the follow error message: "The HTTP response test get a false http status (500)"
Is this something that is easy to solve, or should I try a different place to backup to?

These plugins are temperamental and I don't typically use them. I do the quick and dirty and as a Premium member, do know that we also keep back-ups of your website for you with MORE improve functionality to come in this respect as we head through the end of the year here.

Thanks Kyle, I will do a quick and dirty for now. It's just that I am having a few problems with my WP theme (2011) and want to change themes to find something that works for me. The Tiny MCE plug-in does not work properly and I can't get my blogs to show just a portion of the post. Wanted to do a backup before messing around too much.
Will shout if it all comes unstuck...

You can change your themes at any time through:

Appearance => Themes

It sounds like this is what you are going to want to do here.

I've been using Dropbox without any problems. It's simple, and automatic. I also know of some companies that use dropbox too.
