For the life of me, I cannot seem to create a link for the OEC training in my message. I have copied a 'linked' source onto a document without problems, yet, cannot copy the OEC link and transfer the link to the campaign message.

What can you tell me?

Hey all,

There is a solution.

When you create your campaign message for new referrals, you may choose to add a link or two about the training offered.

When you Dave the message, then look at it, you will still see the domain link, not the phrase you wanted to link.

I know, that may not make any sense.

However, even though you only see the bare link, your referral will see the finished link. You can check it when you go tou your referrals profile to follow them. The finished link is there!

Mystery solved!!

Let me say this a different way...with images...grin

I have enclosed a screenshot to illustrate the question I have here...

This is the link for the OEC training....It is visible in the campaign/welcome message that is sent to a new member.

The OCE training is blue because it is linked. When I try to replicate this, by copying the statement, I have the option to copy it with the link..

When I paste this on a word doc, the link is active, yet when I paste it n my campaign message, The same sentence is pasted, without a link.

Without the use of formatting, how does this become linked?

Does that make more sense?

I know where the campaign message is, I'm editing mine...grin.
I know how to paste a proper link onto a document, or a WordPress doc, however, I am unable to paste this same link in my campaign message...just like everyone else can do...

I don't get it...

Have you tried reaching out to Carson regarding this issue Rudy? That is what I would do, considering that Carson is the scripting guru at WA. And, I'm sure he'd want to know if this is an issue that is sneaking into the system. If in fact, that were to prove out to be true.

Are you going into tracking and adding your campaign there. Do you want message links or tracking links. Not sure I understand. I think it was on level 4 or 5 of boot camp training. I followed that with little problems. Well a little because it looks different, but I followed the comments underneath.

Yeah, I did reach out to site support.. awaiting their reply.

So weird, too, because I was able to do this on my previous message...the same one I'm updating. Go figure..

No worries, it's a glitch somewhere. I'm revamping the same message yet when I added the link back, it won't take.

Because there is no way to format the text content, I cannot link a sentence.
For some reason, I cannot copy/paste the linked phrase.

What device are you using Rudy?

If you're using a mobile device, try a laptop or desktop computer to see if that will do these steps for you.

This MIGHT offer you some help:

Hey Trish,

How can I explain this.

I'm using my computer.
I copied the OEC training (spelled out) link in one of Kyle's welcome messages for reference.
When I pasted to my word document, the phrase and link appeared. Totally viable.

However, when I copied and pasted THAT, only the phrase posted, no link attached.

Make sense?

Yes, it sure does Rudy.

What I might have done was create my messages in Word, then copy and pasted into the messages... and THEN I added my links.

Leastwise, that is what I would have done had I run into the same issue you are describing.

To be honest with you... I THINK I created my messages right in the messages textboxes provided... but... it's been too long ago to remember accurately enough.

The complexity of the scripting to create those messages may not allow for copying and pasting messages with links from Word.

I know of several people who swear that you cannot copy and paste posts or pages from Word into WordPress. Yet, I have no issue doing that. There are a few hiccups, but they are EASILY fixed when reading over for errors the posts once it has been pasted into WordPress.

The more that search engines DEMAND of site owners, the more complex our content management systems are going to get as time goes by.

Yeah, I'm glad that helped explain my dilemma,, Trish...

And also have no issue with posting into WP from word doc either.

The funny thing is, I wrote my new spiel in Word doc, then copy/pasted to the message box.

The link was visible on my word doc, yet only the sentence remained with no link.

What is even stranger is I had the link in a prior message that I wanted to make a bit less formal, yet, now I can't duplicate the link. When I do, all that shows is the https and domain name.

And so close to Halloween...grin
