Hi

That's totally up to you.

Depending your plan and what you are doing i.e. services, consulting, ecommerce, experiences perhaps you'd want a static page.

You can always include a blog onto those sites, by creating a totally blank page and call it "Blog" and add it to your menu. All of your future posts would be included there.

Many do, updating blog regularly can drive organic traffic onto which you can divert to your services | consulting | ecom site | partners | merchants.

The sky's the limit.

It definitely how much activity your Home page presents. If its all text it wont' get as much activity, but if it includes text and links to other predetermined pages Statis will work.

I think it depends on the niche and the style of the website.

I have some websites where the home page is the blog roll and some where it's an introductory page to the business, often with an introductory video and showcasing a "product of the week".

You can always provide access to the blog roll via the header menu.

Using the blog roll as the home page allows you to create a dynamically changing home page quickly. This can be a good startup option.
