I have been in the affiliate marketing business for years with moderate success but I have always wondered how the gurus seem to convert leads to customers at will.
This is my biggest pain point and I question what I am doing all the time. i ask myself how can I improve.
Am I attracting high quality targeted referrals or is it the way I connect with them. Perhaps my email marketing is not right?
This game is like a jigsaw puzzle where is one piece is out of place you cannot complete your mission.
I believe there are many of us asking similar questions. It will be interesting to read the answers from this community.
Cheers Kev

"Gurus" run massive numbers in traffic and create huge list...For many of them it is a simple game of mathematics and over time after over spending one can hopefully get to a point where they are able to fine tune their system and keep cost down due to exposure. Some times I learned from a buddy who does well online...when some of these people talk about larger than normal numbers or cash earned in a small amount of time or in a month....they are leaving out all the emails that had to be sent and how many days, weeks, or even months it took for a particular offers sales to come in or convert for a particular campaign.

Really and truly most Gurus are seemingly gurus not because they are necessarily good at different forms of marketing like article writing, blogging, or ppc to name a few; but many are good at creating small free and paid products that are geared to their particular audience. Create a free product or ebook and give it to your list if you haven't all ready....create another value based product that solves some issue or provides insight to the interest of your audience and have them buy it for a nominal fee and continue scaling up. Or like what some people do create a funnel that links everything that is geared to your audience from the free give away all the way to your backend product.

It takes a lot of time and hard work to find some type of pattern of a keyword or keywords to generate higher conversions and simply fine tuning campaigns.

A few guys that are really good....don't even put buy links in their emails hardly ever...maybe once a week or two....some times even longer but in between that time they are adding value and exposing their list to different ideas , ways of thought, and just them as a person. There are so many methods and different methods work for different people.

You definitely have asked a good and very cool question!

Hi Sylvester, thank you for your very comprehensive answer. Too many options in there, I can't keep up.
It appears to be like a jigsaw puzzle when you have to get all the pieces in the right place.
A planning is the way to go.
