I would put this in site feedback but it's very specific: I've added an AWeber sign up form to my site and want to know how distracting/annoying it is. It appears on every page

I can't find a sign-up form. I clicked through a few pages and menu items and still couldn't find where to sign up. I do see your feedback form though and I am trying to figure out how to add that to my sight. Can you tell me how you added the feedback/comment form? P.S. I love Golden Retrievers and have a Golden Retriever grand-dog. I plan on doing a site eventually as well but that will be down the road. One project at a time and I am working on something non-dog related right now.

I pulled the form down yesterday but thanks for your feedback. Are you talking about the comment form that follows a blog post or something in the social media icons?

No wonder I couldn't find the sign up form. I found an answer to my question on how to add a comment form. It is working now. Thanks.

I clicked on your site but no form popped up. I liked the site, though. Lots of good information if you have a Golden Retriever. My browser is Firefox. Debbie

I pulled the form down yesterday but thanks for your kind words.

Great topic and discussion. Thank you

Take Paul's idvice! He knows what he's doing.

Sorry no form - but I can say from experience if you're going to have a popup form it's better to have an exit popup.

You also want to have a form in your side bar and it's also a good idea to have one at the end of your pages and posts.

Hope that hleps

Perfect! Thanks. AWeber forms don't give you the luxury of timing when it pops up or over so I may test it out in the sidebars

Yeah Aweber is just the serivce and the tool used to create static forms.

For exit popups and other optin options you need to use a plugin. Personally I uses thrive themes and all the plugins.

And they have a optin plugin called Thrived Leads that alows you to can create all kinds of optin's - inculding exit popups.

Once created all you do is add the Aweber code to the optin. And all you need to create is a basic form just to create the code.

The other great thing is this plugin also tracks all your conversion data so you can see how well your optin is performing

Thanks so much for this info. I'm running an animals theme but have thought about switching. This is really helpful

Leo, I looked for thrive theme and it only popped up one called Pizzolo. Is that what you're using? WOuld love to know the exact theme name you're using. Thanks so much!

I use the Minus theme - which I have customized to the design I wanted.

Here's the direct link to see all the themes - https://thrivethemes.com/themes/

Here's the direct link to the thrive plugin - https://thrivethemes.com/leads/

And here's the link to the main site https://thrivethemes.com - from here you can scroll down and see everything they have.

Hope this helps

Thanks! Didn't realize that was a plugin so that's good advice.

Your form did not open for me when I visited your site. I tried with Firefox and Explorer. Sorry...

I took it down right around that time. Thanks!

I will be honest OK

you are using orange in your website and you would be better to use BLUE - what because Blue is TRUST please see
http://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/how-to-choose-color-for-your-website/
COLOR is IMPORTANT OK

Your POPup comes on TOOOOOO quick and is again is Orange which make it look cheap
You best to have the pop up appear just before the person is leaving or say after a minute on site

Yup that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for! Had a feeling it was tooooo quick and could depress visitors. Thanks so much!

Happy to help

What if you put it on your right side bar?

That's what I'm thinking too. Thanks!

My pleasure.

Now I'm casting about trying to find the best way to do that. ANy suggestions? There isn't an Aweber widget in WP

You have to use a text widget.

Does that widget accept form code or do I need to link it to a different page?

You can place the code in the text box. It should work.

Great! I'll try that. Thanks so much for your help!

My pleasure.

It appears by every page switch, that's too much

Yup I agree which is why I've reached out to friends like you!

Hey guys! Although I have a profile picture ready to roll it doesn't show on my posts, just the little general gravatar. Any tricks to getting my pic to appear next to the post

you have to bring it in to gravator. That's why we have it.

I did that actually

and it still isn't showing up? Sorry guess if you still need help maybe ask in chat or support. I sure wish I could help you.

Thanks for your help! The picture shows up in my upper right hand corner when I'm reviewing the site but not in posts.

Have you uploaded your picture to your posts?

When you are creating your post there is a "Add Media" button on the top left hand side. Click it and you can add any saved picture or drag the picture to it.

and @danasweetP I think Victoria is referring to the author box that is available on many premium themes.

Yes I am!

Have you activated your gravatar account (via the email you submitted when registering)?

Yes I have.

Hello Victoria.
Most members just upload a photo to their Media Library and insert it in their posts the same as any other pic.

The way I do it is I have a BIO with a pic and its inserted as part of that automatically through my Gravatar account (see pic).

First of all though you have to create an actual Bio.
Robert

Thanks for this Robert!

No probs and that Bio is inserted automatically at the bottom of every post.
Its set and forget and of course you can update it as and when you want to.
