Interview with future me
The year 2082Century soul
"What a year it's been, and what a wonderful person we have here as a guest. A tradition of this show is once a year; we invite people who are lucky to have an opportunity to live to a 100. And not just live a typical day-to-day life, they are known for outstanding contributions to our society."
"I wish I had a life like Vlad." ( Interviewer words 😁)
He inspired and changed millions of people's lives. People reached out to him and wanted to know the true reason for his success.
One hundred years old is a lot if you are miserable, and it's a lot if you don't have a goal.
It's nothing if you have a purpose in life. You live every day to the max, and you cannot wait to wake up in the morning to smash it again.
We are lucky for this opportunity to ask Vlad a few questions, and hopefully, we can figure out the secrets to his happy life, how he made his fortune and see if he can give us some hints.
If we pick the three most common words Vlad is associated with; here they are one by one.POSITIVE
Vlad, why are you so positive all the time?
There is no need to be negative; no reason for it. Many things go wrong in our daily life, and I am not talking about global stuff happening daily.
My mother told me I was born with a smile, and I lived my life with a smile every day. Even in hard times, we can always find positives.
I am too busy to worry about stuff I cannot control and focus my energy on achieving my goals.
If something is bothering you at work or someone has done something wrong to you, think for a moment: will this matter five years from now? When you waste your energy on negatives. Do you think you are going to live forever? Think again.
Time is our most valuable asset. And I started to understand that in my late 30's.
The day I realised my time was ticking, my life changed. And it was over 60 years ago. For some, it's a lifetime; for me, it was yesterday.
Today is the most important day of your life, my friend. Live to the max, wake up early and go after your dreams.
There will be things that will put most of the world under anxiety and depression. We cannot control things like wars and global pandemics, but we can control how we react to them.
In my late 30s, I was full-time employed, and we were hit by the first Global pandemic of my life. Covid, and it was something the world hadn't seen before.
I was working in the hospitality sector at the holiday park. Nobody knew how to deal with this situation, but we managed to go through it. We were in lockdown; we had a shortage of products, and we had a new government.
There is no way you can be negative about things out of your control. What is the point?
Being positive has been one of the things that kept me going. I believe that better things will come, but I must stay positive.
Hard times make people stronger if they choose to. Many choose to be followers, but the secret to a successful life is being a creator. YOU are a creator of your life; nobody will do it for you.
- We naturally come to the second word you are associated with.
"Tell us a little bit about it."
I will pick discipline if you ask me to choose one thing to develop. In my opinion, nothing can change your life more than discipline.
It's pretty simple to develop; you need to start small and scale up your game once you are comfortable.
In my 30s, I realised the power of discipline and had to train my mind. I had to put myself through various challenges to make sure I was ok to face anything in my life.
I started with simple stuff like cold showers every morning; that might sound crazy to some, but it's something that has kept me going for decades.
Wake up early, 5 am to be exact. It's difficult sometimes due to my constant travel, and time zones are changing, but It's still a habit to wake up at 5 am: no alarm, and it's been like this for decades.
I would probably not be here now if it weren't for that.
In my late 30s, I had few routines; it's been a lot of running, gym, swimming, and yoga.
That one is probably worth mentioning. Imagine a strong man, 6'2, height, 84kg weight, and joining a yoga class. There was a lot of talking about it.
Here is the thing. Do worry about what other people think about you, and I mean it.
There is a reason why less than 10% are considered to be successful, and the other 90% are not.
People in the top 10% do not care what others think; they follow their goals.
I have to ignore a lot to get what I want.
I had to put myself through tough times to make myself stronger.
I had no choice but to be disciplined; otherwise, I would not be in control of my life.
And remember, time is ticking.
Do you want to be in control or to be controlled by someone else?
- WOW, that's some powerful stuff; we are so glad to have you on our show. There is another word everyone associates you with.
When I was young, I wanted to change the world, but I couldn't figure out how. I always knew I would make great things and change lives. It took me to my late 30s - early 40s until I started making changes.
To achieve big things, you need to see them in your mind. I became good at visualisation.
Ask yourself if you are unhappy with where you are in your life. What do you want? Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10, or 20?
Most people are not achieving great things simply because they do not believe they can; they think it's not going to happen or they can't do it. That's victim behaviour, and most people have it, unfortunately.
I was different all my life; I admired people who were different. My role models were people who were changing the world. Many people didn't like them, but I didn't care.
We need to ask ourselves sometimes, what do we want to achieve? What is our goal? Why do we wake up in the morning?
I remember in my late 30s when I told people I wanted to live for as long as possible and at least to 100; I was shocked when people told me they did not want to live past 50.
Do I need to spend my time with these people? Maybe. Or maybe not.
There were almost 8 billion people in the world. ( in 2022 )
How many people have made a difference?
What is the dreamer?
They are people who think positive to start with.
They are great at visualising things.
They do not accept excuses.
They believe there are better things out there.
How can they achieve them?
Well, it's simple, in my opinion.
BE POSITIVE, HAVE DISCIPLINE, and TAKE ACTION every day.
Have a reason, have WHY?
Why did you wake up today? Do you have a goal? Do you think you will have time tomorrow?
I accept that time is ticking, and I am blessed to live and enjoy life.
That's my secret to being happy.
I have never done anything like that before, but it helps to visualise the life you want to live and how you want to be remembered. Start from the end and work backwards. It will help you make your daily choice.
Have a great day!
