Facebook is Powerful
Elections and Influence.
A T.V. programme about the power of social media used in recent elections.
How using information gleaned from Facebook “likes” was used to predict how people would vote, their preferences and habits.
We need to harness that power and influence to market our “products.”
Social Media influence.
Whether we like it or not, social media is here to stay and this more open society means we will get to know more and more about each other.
If that reverses the use of secrets as a power source, maybe it is not so bad.
It could be very useful to us to be able to get our message out there.
Information IS power and social media gives us a route to contact a lot of people.

Information is only power if you are using it to blackmail someone.
That is tearing someone down.
In order to make information powerful to/for you, you must USE it!
Just knowing something does not mean anything.
Thanks Mickey. The point here, for me, is that there is now so much information that selecting the appropriate material to use is a challenge.
The store of information "out there" on us, the people, is gargantuan.
As you say, it is about how the information is used.
Thanks Keith. Interesting reply. I feel like there is too much knowledge to keep in my head so I use computers and the internet to manipulate the information and make the most use of it.
