Greased lightening
Greased lightening
The storms over the UK in the last few days have produced amazing, almost unbelievable lightening. Some, screeching from cloud to cloud before finding the earth.
A small reminder of how small we are in this fantastic world.

Good afternoon Peony,
Nature is amazing. My poor Cindy, an old Rottweiler Lady is very frightened with thunder and lightning. Personally, I enjoy watching it. If the storm happens during the night I find my bed ever so cozy.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Hi Taetske
There is something about being wrapped up and warm whilst the elements battle it out in the sky.
We are SO insignificant in relation to our own world, nevertheless a boundless universe. Mother nature never ceases to amaze me, Peony!
Thanks Kaju. There is so much around us and sometimes we forget to notice. Look around and smell the flowers.
So important. And no creature has a keener sense of smell than a cute hovering hummingbird!
Animals can be strange. We woke up one morning very early to find a Pea_Hen outside our upstairs window. I visited the street regularly for several months, making itself known by the very loud call it made.
Yeah, this reminds me when we went to Bora Bora, my partner made a very curious courtship with a boxfish we named "Puffer". I swear, we had a bungalow on the lagoon, and this fish would follow us wherever we would swim or walk in the lagoon, once 200 yards up to our bungalow!
Fabulous picture. We're in the monsoon season in Arizona, so we are seeing the same type of skies...accompanied by the sound of thunder. Beautiful. Debbie
Thanks Debbie. It was something unusual here in the UK. We get lightening but I have never seen it like this.
I wonder how the lightning decodes which cloud to leap to, Mike. Have you been out greasing the paths?
You can see yin and yang in the face of the moon Peony. The Korean flag was patterned after it!
Except in the north where they're dumbed down! Singularly focused on the Leader. He's the Un!
Ah Well! One of the strangest political situations in the world. I avoid politics here but that is one strange country.
Me too Karin. I have seen lightning before but this was quite spectacular. I could hear the song coming...

Here in Nebraska when there is a large storm, there can be a really incredible 'light' show. At night it's even better.
Hi John. Do you have any pictures. I guess, like snowflakes, no two are the same.
Nice to have a cornhusker in the family John!
Not heard that term Mike, "Cornhusker." Hope it is complimentary!
Nebraska goes by the Cornhusker state Peony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebraska
Thanks Mike.
Makes sense.
