Duplicate pins are a potential issue that can have a negative effect on your Pinterest account and obviously we want to avoid that. Duplicate pins are basically identical pin images you use over and over instead of keeping things fresh and new.

Now overall avoiding making them is easier said than done when you have 100s, 1,000s of pins and sometimes you can come across a situation where you may have accidently used the same image as before or wonder if that's the case. This video covers the topic of how to avoid that issue and what else you need to know about the topic!

Tip: Use this tutorial to help you make more variations of the same image (making it a completely new/unique pin): https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/vitaliyg/blog/8-ways-to-repurpose-the-same-image-for-pinterest

Well explained Vitaliy

Hey Vitaliy,
I have noticed a couple of duplicate pins recently and wondered about the impact.

But given that I have thousands of pins, I didn't think the odd duplication would hurt, and you've just provided that reassurance.

Appreciate your summarising the matter.
Cheers
Cherie

It's bound to happen from time to time, totally normal. Plus many others get pins from the same sources like we do (Canva for example), so it's inevitable but just keep things on the rare side there and you should be good.

I think I might have duplicated pins before :( Good to know that I need to be more careful and also creative.

That's ok and it happens like I mentioned. As long as it's rare, you're good. If it was an issue you'd likely already see it in pinterest.

Okay, thanks! Need to restart doing Pinterest, I think. Kind of liked that social media before.

This is one aspect I am really careful with, meaning that I'm not using same Canva image in different pins. I also use Canva AI to generate images if I cannot find something in Canva related to my content.
Thanks, Vitaliy, useful info like always 😀
