Looking Back

IfI am to look back at that time when we were so desperate to have everything we needed for our daily sustenance, I can’t help but cry. It wasn’t ever a good feeling. It was horrible, for aside from scarcity, there wasn’t enough love, care and support within my parents relationship. They didn’t care for each other, not the obvious ones. Maybe they did on their latter days, but not on the earlier years of their marriage. I thank God, for despite that kind of relationship they had, we felt their love, care and their moral support. They raised us with good moral characters and the fear of the Lord.

They thought us how to behave, obey, not answering back on them when reprimanded. Giving proper respect to elders were so important practice they inculcated in our hearts. We were good and behaved children although, we were'better than anyone else. We did have flaws and negatives, but we grew guided and supported. We weren’t praying together every night. Not our practice, but almost every moment we'we hear our Mother talking to God. She was always asking for God's mercy and guidance what to do and whom to approach to ask for help for our daily needs. Only by God's grace and mercy that we survived and got through with all the hardships and difficulties we faced during those times.

I was confident that He is in me, with me and working for me. I knew He's holding me by the hand and leading me to where I should go. There are times when I get confuse and don't know what to do, but I just rely on His words. If I have peace to what I am about to do and not being bothered, then I know He has my back. I am just confident that ones I already prayed for it, He is already working in my behalf. It is my custom that ones I offered my thing to the Lord and I know I am doing what pleases Him, I've got that full trust and confidence that whatever be the outcome, it is absolute God's will and He is in full control. I may not understand yet at the beginning, but as life goes bye, it will reveal itself and almost always, I ended up thanking Him for it was always His perfect will. Good and always good for me. He knows best and does the best. Circumstances comes all the time and we have no absolute control, but God does.

Message

I am speaking from my own point of view and probably you might agree with me when I say that without God in our lives, we are nothing. I do acknowledge that He is the Lord of my life. He died on the cross for my sins - past, present and future. My life was offered to Him and He is in absolute control. He is my great Provider, Healer and the Lover of my soul.
He was my Partner in every endeavor I had and will always be. My life is nothing and every victory gained is worthless too if He is outside in my life and not being sought for every moment.
: It would always be good if you invite Jesus to sit at the center of your heart and make Him as your Lord and Saviour.
: Acknowledge Him in everything you do and He will direct your path.

: Delight yourself to the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

: What will profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?

Confidence In God

Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean on your own understanding.6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

My whole life was full of tears and prayers because I totally depend on what He could do through me. Only by His grace and Mercy. He is my best friend aside from my mother. There were no Bible studies on that time, but because of hardships in life, our situations lead us to draw closer and closer to our loving Creator. We just believed that He is able and He is the answer to all our prayers. I made a poster before and stuck on our wall saying" The family that prays together, stays together"

My Mother didn't intentionally lead us to prayer, but we copied how often she was talking to God audibly and suddenly became our reality. I remember that day when I was already in third year college. We had a requirement to go for a field trip to Manila to visit channel 4 to complete our Journalism subject. I went home that weekend and was so hesitant to tell my Mother because I know 700 pesos at that time was such a big amount and no where in the world where to get that as even our normal allowances for that week was not yet met. I told anyway as it was needed and informed her that if I can’t go, I won’t be able to complete my requirements for that subject.

She was so sorry ! I saw the pain from her face and of course! deep inside her, how she wished she was able to provide without being bothered and worried where to get that money. In short, I went back to school to my boarding house without the money I needed. I knew my mum well and I knew she is going to do something in order for me to go. She had that resourceful power within her thank God! otherwise, I won’t be here to where I am now. It did realised anyway as on the fourth day of that week, my Mother came to my Boarding house and gave me the money, but with a word saying that she just borrowed the money to be paid and of course! I should not just treat it as nothing, but value it and use for its purpose.

Lesson To Learn

To put God first above all else ushers us to our greatness.

Matthew 6:33 says " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Jesus says: “If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?

” Luke 12:26. God is able to do everything! Cast all our care on Him for He truly cares. Having an intimate relationship with Him as our loving, caring, forgiving, gracious and merciful Father allows us to be more confident and optimistic that no matter what, we will truly achieve, fulfill our dream. Accomplish our goals and live a life according to His wonderful plan for all of us. A plan to prosper us and not to harm us. To give us hope and a bright future. He promised as well to never leave us nor forsake us. So, why worry?

Worry is the absence of trust. So don't worry! Just trust in Him and be happy.

Blessings to you Villarose for sharing from your heart--all is very true!

Worry is the absence of trust. That's so true. Thanks for the beautiful post.
Have a great week,
Mickey

Grace is getting what we don't deserve.
Mercy is not getting what we do deserve.

Something to think about. Everyone needs both. I know I do.
Blessings on you, Villarose.
