Day 7 with WA: Learning to be an "Internet Discipler"
So I am completing Lesson 10 on my 7th day into the program. I have learned and implemented all the action steps taught, I have the real beginnings of a website, I own my domain, I can move around WordPress with some degree of aptitude, I have begun multiple friendships with WA people, and I complete this section with a lesson on what is essentially a way to disciple people in our program (I am also learning to type with 2 hands again).
This has all been so amazing to me. I am 59 years old. Most of my contemporaries are finishing up their careers and planning for a retirement of leisure. Learning new things at my age seems to take more effort. My short term memory is not what it used to be...I am slower to think...I need reading glasses...this technology all came about after my medical school training...I am feeling so "reborn".
Helping others to help others is the most permanent way to grow a business (and efficient). Sure, just focusing on oneself could lead to faster growth for me but would it be as sustainable and fulfilling? I built my medical practices by helping others and when I retired I had a 6 month waiting list. It was expensive to become a physician: it took 16 years of training, 150,000$ of educational expenses, 200,000$ of startup and equipment costs, and 16 hour days with 24 hour call. In the end my practice owned me, nearly ruined my marriage, and exhausted me. I thank God for the WA opportunity...a new vision...new and exciting information...a new life.
Best Regards to All,
Jeff

Wow! That's a very good blog post my friend Jeffrey!
You have really come in touch with the true essence of WA. It's all about community.
You're right to say we could do it on our own in our little corner but it's way better with people around us to help us. And us helping others while we grow!
We have so much to learn! But We are also able to help!
God bless you!
Welcome to the club doc! Great reflection. Probably speaking for all once or current healthcare practitioners here. At the same age, I am working for someone else, and doing this to break the strings of dependence. At one point, it felt like I studied all my life to have no life of my own. My daughter who wanted to do medicine decided she wanted a family and a real life, so she decided to be a nurse practitioner instead. It is good to learn new things. Let's give it all our effort and show proof that it is possible to learn new things as long as there is life in us.
Jeffery, This is a great post! I am so glad I also found WA. Just went to a job interview today and they couldn't believe the terminology I was spitting out at them regarding websites. Even though the postion I was interviewing was not for a web admin, they wanted to know if possibly I might be able to jump in and possibly help the web admin at times. I hope it helped land the job... we will see! I have very much enjoyed also learning all of the new things I have here as well! Wish you great success here!

Go videre!! I'm a little behind you on the lessons but getting there!! Thanks for sharing - Makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one taking there time and being thorough.
This internet is new to me. I lived in a "cave" called a medical office for over 20 years:)
