I had a new referral since 5 days ago, but I can't see it on my referral list. My stats and my credit indicated I had a new referral, but it's not showing on my list.

Congratulations on your new referral.

Great job, Victoro, am looking to probably get my first referral here shortly as well. What a great feeling, and in such a short amount of time.

perhaps the system has not updated properly agree with Paul put in a support ticket,, well done

How can i introduce wealthy affiliate to those on my personal email contact without them knowing I'm the one inviting them? It is said that familiarity brings contempt. I feel

All my family and friends know that I was going to do this, so I have sent them my website addresses and asked for feed back and suggestions. If I am lucky enough to get interest, then it is their choice to do that.

Just like Eric explained, and leave it up to the individual

I market without shame or fear or contempt -

The way I approach friends and family is two fold. In person if they ask me what I do or if there is an opportunity in a conversation I bring it up. I do what the training said and explain that I write about my passions and teach people what I know. Then I ask if they have a passion.

Now for email or social media, mostly social media though, I post articles that I write after I complete them and let my friends know that I've written another article and provide a call to action to get them to read it. Some do Some don't - I really don't care too much who does and who doesn't. If folks are interested they will read it and if they see something they like they may convert.

Handle it loosely and don't go in with expectations like your nearly forced to do in MLM's.

ROCK ON!

Hi,
This is a bit of a difficult question, because if you send it completely anonymously, they might think it is someone spamming them - but a good point about familiarity.
What if you send it as you, and just tell them your story. How you came across WA and how it has helped you so far. Then you can mention there that it does not work for everybody, but you love it?
I hope there are more community members who can help here, maybe give better advice?
Blessings in abundance
Linda

I think your approach seems very sound. Why not go with your personal story. If they would say: you are not making money, your answer would be: Watch me!

I like approaching with your personal story. Your enthusiasm speaks for itself. If one is ready for a change in their opportunities then the positive approach is always better with those who are more personally connected with you, it seems.

What about using an email programme to create a new email address that's not identifiable (gmail, hotmail or a domain-related email). i think a domain-related email name comes across as more professional and is less likely to be viewed as SPAM by the recipients..

I'm curious to know the difference between a page and a post. When is best to use a post and when is best to use a page?

I structured my site to have pages and sub pages for core content. I love how neat and structured it is. I have a blog page for interesting articles and other content that I don't feel is core. It works for me. I think it gives the visitor a better experience since it is easy to find core topics. I think your niche and type of site will influence how you want to set it up.

I like to use pages as "pillar" pages, i.e. pages that support a major subtopic. Then I link related posts to the pillar page.

Victoro, I agree with Erica.

The short answer is that Pages are better for static content like About Me which does not change all the time. Posts are better for fresh content.

I think it also depends on how you want to structure your website overall. I'm at Level 3 in the training, but so far I'm tending to bunch reviews onto pages and use the menu to separate them, with my blogs being actual articles that then link through to the relevant page reviews.

Hope this helps

When i go on my website i see all the post, from the latest to the oldest. It makes it difficult to leave a comment. How do i make only one post appear on the front page?

I add a page break at the bottom of my post that seems to work...Marion has some good advice and training attached....Best of luck!!

Create a new page and title it blog. Do all of your blogging on that page. This helps your other pages to be neat especially your home page. Make sure you use links on the other pages that take you to your blog page. On the blog page, make sure you have the menu in place so they can jump from your blog page back to any of your other pages. Dave.

Dedicate a page just for that purpose.

If it were me, I'd set aside a page and call it "blog". Then I can do all my blogging from there and my home page stays nice and neat.

Victoro: MarionBlack has spoken. When in doubt on WA ALWAYS follow that miss from Austraila. She is smart. I was going to respond as per my knowledge and experience but when I read MarionBlacks comments I decided to put truth were truth belongs. DAN

Lol. That's the honest truth

Victoro: Yes it is. Have a happy Holiday Season. DAN

I have mine set to show the latest post and would be ok with that, if it showed only the latest post.

That's what I want as well, but it shows all my post from the latest to the oldest.

I think I will just delete my older post so there's only one. One of them is my WA Review but I can move it to a page.

You need to tweak your WordPress settings. You can have a short excerpt of each post on your blogroll (home page) which link to the full post. Don't have too many post excerpts on your home page.

Thanks Marion, that's helped me too! I was wondering the same thing as my home page is starting to look like a never-ending novel!

Thanks.

You can click on appearance - customize - static front page and select static front page.

Instead of posts you have 1 page where you can put your message on...

Grtz,
Bert

Thanks for your reply. You mean I should create a page for all my post?

No, I thought you just wanted only one post to be displayed?
When you still want to see other posts, then I would work with a blog roll like MarionBlack proposal. You will have a better overview of your posts...

But now that I re-read your question: Indeed when you want all your posts seperated, then you need to create a separate page for every post you want to create...
Maybe it is better to call it pages then... ;-)

Grtz,
Bert

Go to Settings>reading options and then you can define a page you want as the homepage. Setting a page/post as static means one page on the homepage :)

I tried that. It only give you option for static page and not post.

You should be able to specify whether page or post. If for some reason your theme doesn't allow it cut and paste everything from that post and make it a page :) Then enable comments on your page that you created. You will lose all your comments though.

Yeah, I'd like to know too ! All my posts just cluster and become one on my first landing page. How do we separate them ?.......Scotty B

Use the categories feature.
Each category and sub-category actually have their own URL, which you can see when you click "view" in the categories menu.

Click the "view" link for each category, copy the URL from your browser, and paste it as a link on the relevant page.

To see what I mean, check out my pages on http://www.winningbeers.com.

Each of the links on each page is actually a category!

Marion's advice seems correct. My landing page has a few post excerpts each linking to the full post. Then there is a list of posts on the right side. The more total posts you have the more you will need to use categories to sort them and allow readers to find them.

I'm asking this so those who don't know might understand it. Is it OK to use paid traffic on your website now that it's not completely finished or wait till your site completel

It is ok to use paid traffic yes.. But make sure you have a proper way to monetize.

Also, stay away from shady traffic sources. I've personally ran paid traffic from all of these sources: https://ppcmode.com/paid-traffic/

Anything out side of that list I would steer clear of.

Great tip, I will need some of those. May I ask do you know any of these that are good for fast app distribution but also have contactable support?

Hello,

If you want some extra traffic, you do not have to pay for it...
Check http://traffboost.net
(you earn your traffic by clicking other people their website, but it is not that much of an effort to get some extra traffic (but don't expect 100 visitors extra a day))

But I would not pay for extra traffic...

And like Marion, digger12 and Je88: wait until you know what you are doing and put your website together first...

Grtz,
Bert

Paid Traffic is not for the faint hearted.Need to really study before any action.
Organic traffic is slow but its worth the waiting.Important is complete the framework of your site first

I say "wait until you know what you're doing". ~Marion

I agree with Marion
