"My dog behaves better than your kid"... said a bumper sticker of a the car in front of me this morning. Is that funny? Am I overracting?

I personally didn't feel offended by that sticker because, obviously, it is not intentionally there for me personally, it is there for whoever reads it.

HOWEVER, I think is malicious because it insults someone's kid.

I see as a proof of how bad our society is getting. To take the time to look for it, order it, buy it, clean your bumper, and stick it to your car is just A LOT of time to realize that it is not really nice. That's my view.

A proof that some people could care less about others and that they can't think about futher consequences.

In a few words, I'm not mad at the message (It's not for me), I'm mad at the fact that a human being can put that out there to send a malicious message with or without the intention to compare a dog with a kid. That's wrong. I think. What do you think?

I've never understood having that kind of bumper sticker on a car. It says so much about a person. You're literally giving a message to everyone who lives in your community, you have a million things to choose from, and you pick something like that.

For most people I dislike, I've had to get to know them before I discover what they're like. Then there are those who broadcast it on a bumper sticker and save me the time and effort!

Janelle

You know if you stop and think about you have to look at it from this point of view. Kids today do not have manners, respect, they are disobedient and my dogs listen better then kids do.

Oh, and by the way, they don't have any morals, or values nowadays and that is terrible.

The corner across the street from my house the kids were swearing like a sailor and that is bad.

So you see I think that is what the bumper sticker meant or at least I hope that is the way it was meant anyway.

Mary

That's the parents fault not the kids, kids can read you tell them they act worst than dogs and they will.

I can see that point of view. Thank you for kindly sharing your views. And your hope is my hope as well :)

I agree with you that it is the parents' fault I have no doubt about that but you can't tell the parents anything though. That is what I am concern about because the parents' are wondering why there kids are acting the way they do.

But they don't want to listen to anyone so we as the society have to deal with these kids and how do we do that.

Mary

The parents are the blame but what are we to do about it. Back in a day everyone jumped on the bandwagon to discipline a child now forget it and now the children are acting the way they do and it is not right.

Mary

I agree with you MikeC69!!

There are issues in our "civil society".
People have used political views to drive a wedge deep into the heart of what it's all about!
These days every aspect of some people's lives are ruled by politics and ideology.
I'm all for simply treating each other with respect and practicing the Golden Rule! In fact the Golden Rule would fix pretty much all our problems !
Best of success!
Mike

Totally agree with you! RESPECT is key!

I agree Mike but you realize that we are in a world where hatred and ignorance are commonplace so take a deep breath lead by example and share when you can but don’t let the idiots spoil your day

Great advice!
I was coaching a game yesterday, and the lineman(referee) told me: "I have a better view of the play, so I would suggest you keep your mouth close", when he called a ball "out" when it wasn't.

My point is that, he was so aggressive with his words and I simply didn't reply because 1) I respect others 2) my players are watching me 3) I need to lead by example 4) MAINLY, I wasn't going to win the argument.

Thank you for stopping by Joseph!

Victor have you seen some kids behave. You don't know what that person has experienced.

He is just making a statement, expressing right to free speech. After all its his car and you dont have to read the message.

My opinion.

Pete

I'm a middle school teacher, I see kids behave and misbehave every single day.

Free Speech, I understand.
His car and I don't have to read it, I totally understand.

I agree Victor but I wish everyone behaved as well as my little doggy

haha!

I’m serious she is a good girl and she behaves well she loves me unconditionally and I love her

And kids will be kids it’s a mini society a great reflection of us in miniature.behind every child are two parents functional or not so

Agree with your sentiment in relation to the bumper sticker. What should happen is a bit of "tough love" with a one on one truthful discussion if she has a problem with a specific person. I personally feel too many children are now being enveloped too much, and consequently many millennials do not know how to take personal responsibility, stand high, and face the world and get on with it.

I'm a middle school teacher and I think that it is my job to make sure my students can SURVIVE in what this society is becoming. They work on: Discipline, Responsibility, Independence, and Initiative. My job is to help them so that they can succeed IN LIFE and not just to pass my final.

Thanks for what you do to help the youth in today’s society, they need all they can get. Between underfunded schools and parents who don’t parent it’s no wonder there are kids who have behavior issues!
Thanks for sharing, I think it’s a tacky bumper sticker, probably meant to be humorous but missed the mark.
KyleAnn

I am glad to hear that Victor especially the reference to Discipline, Responsibility, Independence and initiative! Passing finals in exams will not cut it these days, unfortunately, and University degrees are quickly becoming redundant. It is changing each day and only the resilient and strong will survive into the future.

yeah I don't like it either thanks for sharing the post

Haters gotta hate.. Use reason!

I can see some truth in the message as a dog lover and owner of 4 my dogs are well trained. I think some parents now these days, because of work, not enough time to spend with the kids fail to teach and follow up on basic behavior. Plus the fact in what kind of
environment do they grow up all influence how people behave in public. Just my two cents
Have a great day
Tommy

I understand where you coming from. And as a middle school teacher, I must agree with you. There is just something about that sticker.. It's probably just my sensitivity and personality.

Thank you for stopping by!

'like' your comment -- yes, puppy-lover here, too! ... and frankly, a well-trained owner with a well-trained doggie are like 'gold!' ...

thanks kindly, cheerio... 😊
