Don't Miss Face-to-Face Opportunities for being on your Phone!
It's not a surprise that we live in a society where most of us are using our phone a little too much, here and there. Remember, the time that you are dedicating to your phone, you are not dedicating to the surrounding people; and most of the time your phone CAN WAIT!
As you know, I'm on a quick vacation in Pennsylvania and I met a very important person that run businesses in Massachusetts and, in a very quick conversation, I may have built a very important connection.
Guess what? If I had been in my phone, I would have never talked to this man. He may or may not become a critical piece of my financial puzzle but at least I gave an opportunity to a new friendship.
You NEVER know when the person next to you will make a difference in your life. Yes, we are addicted to our phone. However, don't get addicted to it when you can talk to people face-to-face.

Hi Victor!
This made me smile remembering something my sister said to me while we were waiting in line at the grocery. I began talking to the people in front and behind as the wait was quite long.
Once we were checked out and walking to the car she commented “you’ll just talk to anyone won’t you”!
Obviously she doesn’t.
I never pass up an opportunity to make a new friend, who may become a new customer or mentor.

Hello Victor, of course it s true. but the phone also allowed to speak to peopltee we can t see otherwise. My daughter could speak to her friend very often . So when she came back in brussels they spent time together. The black and the white is a pure invention. Nothing can be completly bad , but I have to mesure it. Of course , I am on the phone , listenning all the conference, the courses or Something else. a formation .That s allowed me to take the metro instead Driving my car. So it s a choice I did . Do you think that when I drive my car , I am abble to speak to someone unknown? Anne ( blog and me?)
This is true, networking with people is so important and you can't do it with a phone stuck to your ear. Thanks for a wise reminder.

I totally agree with you. And my daughter knows that she can use her Ipad at home; when we are out in the world, we interact!
She has to introduce herself to little girls and start conversations. And she is very good at it!

No worries for me, not a great 'phone person, I can usually guarantee to miss a call because it is way in the bottom of my enormous bag.
I had too many years "on the phone" for my work for it now to be enjoyable. Emails are better, they don't answer back ☺
