A tough loss . Time to build my confidence!
A quick post about town club... We lost 4-0 and pretty much we will not be able to win our division. It hit me hard yesterday because I had confidence on the team. The kids have the talent but they get nervous during the game.
Just for the record, this is not the same team I talked about in my last post. I coach two teams: boys middle school soccer and a town club (boys + 3 girls).
SO, as a coach I failed to get the message to my players. Then I realized that I'm not the one playing so I can't take the blame on myself. Even though this is a new team, I always try to motivate them and have goals: our goal was to win the division.
With my perfectionist personality, a loss hits me hard every time but I know I have to move on and learn from mistakes.
Another game today with my school team. Against a team that I haven't been able to defeat yet! (This is my third year coaching at this school)
LET'S GET THE W !!!!!

Congratulations for showing up for the children and determination to stick it out. Losses are necessary for true growth. Coaching is even more valuable through the losses than through the wins.
You did your best as a coach. The players are also responsible for their actions.
Better luck next time.

Thanks for sharing Victor.
Sorry for the loss, but as a coach it is as important to teach youth to accept both losing and winning. They will face both situations many times in life.
There is no shame in losing if you have put forth your best effort.
Best of luck for the next game!

I am sorry that your team had lost but you have to look at it this way. It will make the team stronger in the long run when they learn from their mistakes.
No one is really to blame for the loss but it shows the team that you have the determination to persevere no matter what. Don't be down because it just means you are stronger and you have to let your kids see that.
