Stop feeding the Monkeys
Good morning WA family
Stop feeding the Monkeys!!
Well, what a title for a blog and there is good reason for this title so Let's get into this.
Back in 2006 I had life saving brain surgery and I recall vaguely 2 women arriving at my home and getting me sign some papers regarding my working capabilities at the time and one of them said "You won't have to worry about working dear so just sign here" I can't recall signing the papers but evidently the papers stated I was unable to work. Big surprise!!! lol
What they were trying to tell me was I would never work again and this paperwork was to sign me off as disabled. Hmm I don't think so.
If I had listened to people, I would most likely not be here today growing my online businesses as I am or doing all the other things I love to do as you will know by my profile. So this leads me to my reason for this title and maybe I can help those of you that have monkeys playing with your mind
You and the monkeys
I learned many years ago about monkeys in your mind or on your shoulder and how to deal with these rascally critters so here we go.
YOU are in control of your MIND. Yes, YOU are in control of YOUR MIND
Whenever something negative comes into your mind, it is because you have let it make a home there. I have spent a lot of time within the WA community since I began my journey and I have seen people writing things like, I have writers block, or I am struggling with ... or I don't think I can... and many other similar phrases and I am not growling here or saying you shouldn't have these feelings.
What I am saying here is this. Whenever you say I have or I am or I can't... and add a negative, you are telling your mind to give you these things and make it harder than it needs to be.
Road to freedom
Over my years of study as a success coach personal development coach or whatever it is named, I learned this particular skill and it has been one of the best skills I have learned especially when life tripped me up back in 2006.
OK, this is what I was taught by my fabulous Mentor.
Every time a negative thought, feeling, emotion tries to enter your mind, you simply say, NO
out loud and think of something positive. Repeat this every time one of those cheeky monkeys arrives in your mind. NO, then positive thoughts.
If you keep feeding the monkeys by allowing to enter your mind or sit on your shoulder bleating into your ear, you will continue to have ;lack of self belief, feelings of lack or inadequacies and other negatives. NOT GOOD- So NO is all you need to say but you have to say it firmly and mean it so the monkeys eventually leave as they are not being fed by you and will find somewhere else to try their naughty negatives and at least you will be free of them
Practice
Yes it will take consistent effort for a while and you may be saying NO quite often for a short period but I am sure if you really want to remove the negatives, all you have to do is stop feeding the monkeys and set yourself free and move on into a positive thinking where success will follow in whatever you are setting out to achieve
Believe in you and have a really awesome day

Fantastic post and title Vicki. The mind is the most powerful thing in the world and what you allow to enter it so will it be.
Feeding the Monkeys.... Love this!!!
When I have 'writers block'... or lack of ideas, I watch and re watch training videos, majistudio (jays) videos.... and things clear up or I learn something new....
Great post!!!
Shaunna

This is such great advice. I got a concussion 2 years ago and still have post concussion syndrome, I know that's not close to having brain surgery, but sometimes it's hard to go to work and take care of my family, but when I stay positive it's so much better.
Anything that affects our brain has to be looked at and staying positive is the best cure

Over the years my monkeys have gotten too fat and now they are starting to lose weight. And NOW the troop is being eradicated.
> Saving my brain from going bananas as well!!!
LOL - That was so funny, Brad! ;-) Couldn't help laughing out loud! ;-)
