Happy Saturday evening from New Zealand WA family.

I had to write this before the evening comes to a close for me as I feel it is really important to share.

Who?

A lot of people spend a lot of time in the community leaving comments for other members and this is so awesome, however- When you make comments there are some really important things to remember when you do this.

Why?

When leaving comments please remember to actually read the blog/message from the other member before you comment. I have seen some pretty strange comments for some posts and it is obvious the post/blog/message has not been read before a comment is made. Please make sure you read 1st then comment.

How?

How do you comment- Please be respectful and encouraging to everyone. Some people are just starting out and ask a lot of questions and yes, it can be frustrating however always be polite when writing a comment.

What?

Many years ago I attended a course for personal development and this was the Dale Carnegie Course!! Amazing and I received the highest Award for Achievement which was an honour at the time. I asked the trainer Michael, why did people vote for me? He said" It is simple Vicki, you are sincere and you know everyones name and use it when you speak to them"

That really resonated with me and in one of Dales very famous books"How to win friends and Influence People he mentions this" The sweetest sound a person can hear is their name"

When?

OK, Firstly thank you to everyone who takes the time to comment here in WA and on the websites. Fantastic!!! I did notice today when I was working in the community a post by one of the members about ..... Then after I read the post I went to write a comment and as always found the name of who wrote the post and proceeded to write my comment. Above my comment was another comment and the person who wrote it called the person who wrote the blog by the wrong name, in fact this person had called the writer the same name as the person who commented before that.

This showed me 2 things. Firstly the person didn't read the blog/post and secondly this person hadn't bothered to find the name of the blog writer.

I'm not growling, I'm merely pointing out that people liked to be called by there name and when you write a comment and include the persons name there is sincerity in what you are doing and not just writing to help the ratings move.

All you do is hover your mouse over the persons profile and their name will show up. Easy :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope when writing comments you really think about who you are addressing and how you can relate sincerely

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have fun and stay safe

Vicki

Evening Vicki, I am guilty of not giving enough thought to comments I make for blogs that I may just “ skim read” I will try and adopt your advice for future replies. We should focus, I was going to list reasons why I only do half a job when I reply to some blogs, but second thoughts, be positive if a job is worth doing, do it well. Have a good Sunday. Sandy

Thank you for your honesty Clyde "Sandy" I see your profile name says Clyde and here you are signing off as Sandy.
I am a little confused :) Help me out here, please
Vicki

Hi Vicki my name is Clyde, I use the name Sandy on my web site, sorry for confusion. 6.30 am here in uk.

Hi Clyde- Great to connect and thank you for clarifying this for me
I hope you are enjoying WA and all it has to offer
Vicki

Carla... I mean Vicki!
Sometimes coming up with unique comments that add to the conversation both on the web and here at WA can be challenging. I've read posts and written a reply only to see other replies that either everyone missed the mark....or I was out wandering in the desert when I hit reply.

Being polite, calling folks by name, being sincere and adding to the discussion should be second nature to us all.

Walking the Path of Peace,
Sanders

Hi, Sanders lol- Loving your humour. Seriously, Yes, you are so right and sincerity is so important when helping people with comments and I feel if we can't be bothered reading a blog, then move on without writing a comment just for the sake of it
Thank you so much for your input Sanders
Go easy
Vicki

Thank you!

You are correct, Vicki. Just like in the good old days, it's always polite to call people by their correct name and engage in an authentic way, having actually read your post.
As writers, we should be able to connect in an articulate and genuine way with our fellow WA'ers and customers.
Thanks for your post and have a great weekend!
Colette and Philip

Hi Collette and Philip - As Always your input is so spot on. I often see your comments and I smile as it truly shows what superb people you are,
Yes being able to connect in a genuine way is something so important to relationship building online and offline and I thank you both for being so kind
You enjoy your weekend too
Kind wishes
Vicki

Thanks Vickic for the information and it is true about addressing people by their names. Some of us have different names like when you reply to me its @tumzkui on my profile i have said my name is Fidelis in this case use any

Hi Fidelis- If people hover there mouse over each members profile, yes they will see your name and it is so good to call people by their name.
Thank you for your comment and all the best
Vicki

Thanks, Vicki. Dale Carnegie's book, "How to win friends and Influence People" is one of my bibles. Napoleon Hill is another that I follow.
Tom.

Hi Tom- Great to connect and Yes, Napolean Hill is another amazing book. A must read for every entrepreneur.
I love books that inspire and these 2 are so great
Thank you for your comments and all the best on your road ahead
Vicki

Good points Vicki especially the sincerity and knowing names. We are familiar with each other here in WA but our new audience in cyberspace isn't. They have to trust in our words.

Hi Brad- You are so right and building trust is so important in here and you are right out there in cyberspace- Great comment thank you Brad

Your Welcome Vicki.

Thank you for your post joanne, Bill, whatsurname.......
Only kidding Vicki, anyway my daughter is Victoria although never Vicki.
Not only reading a Post but actually understanding it is important. Its the same with face to face selling, we have a mouth and 2 ears. Listen before responding is the point, and with WA one does not have to respond every time. LEARN THEN IMPLEMENT.

Hi Paul. thanks for stopping by and I love the humour :)
Yes not everyone needs to respond to a comment and even though we cross each other with answers sometimes, which is all part of commenting and helping I feel it is so important to read the post and then determine whether or not it warrants a comment or have the comments that have already been made covered enough.
2 ears, 1 mouth is always good to remember too, thank you.
All the best Paul and keep making people smile:)
