What Have You Learned About Yourself
Greetings,
This will be a short one (no...seriously). As I was welcoming some new Premium Members and reading a few posts, I started to think about when I came to this platform 14 months ago.
A thought came to mind, so I had the idea to start a discussion with this question:
What new thing have you learned about yourself since you started Wealthy Affiliate?
Whether it's only been a month or two or a few years, I think that if we leave ourselves open, new things will be revealed to us...it's how we respond those "new" things that make a difference.
For me, I learned that I can be consistent. This was truly a revelation for me! I haven't mastered the art of being consistent (yet) but I've come a long way. There are a great many things that I have started, stopped, and restarted since being on this platform; I can either get caught up in that web of "if only" or, I can look at the little victories, which can spur me to even greater heights. As much as I used to cringe from structure, I've learned to embrace discipline, and I realize that there is tremendous power in mastering the art of consistency.
So...is there anything new that you discovered about yourself since you joined Wealthy Affiliate?
Strive to Thrive,
Veronica

I have learnt that I still have an awful lot to offer. I have also learnt that I have finally learnt not to enter into needless drama. Not my circus, not my monkeys.
In the past, I would have entered the arena with the mission of mediation or sticking up for the perceived underdog.
I really cannot waste my time anymore.

That is just pure wisdom, Karen! Whenever I feel the need to step into the ring, I'll think about your words.
If you know me you know I'm a quiet guy in person. I rarely have something to say in a discussion.
What I have found through using WA is that I may not talk much, but apparently I have the ability write plenty of ideas down and share them that way.
WA has been an awesome experience so far, and I can't wait to see where it leads me.
It seems that for many, they are able to express themselves more easily through writing, which is such a beautiful gift. I appreciate you stopping by and joining the discussion, Joe.
I've learned that I do have the discipline to do all of this and to stick with it. Amazing how, in the past, like you mentioned about yourself, I started and stopped more projects than I care to mention. Since joining WA I've started and kept going. It's a miracle! LOL!
I just realized, V, we started at just about the same time and I am SO happy we connected here, my friend.
All the best,
Sue
Yes, we did! I'm still fascinated how connections are forged on this platform...how we can move from "follower" to friend.
There's is only ONE RV Lady!!!
Some you remain followers with and others go quickly to friend...you went super-sonic straight to friend! I love that you gave me that name.
My experience here has given me personal satisfaction and confidence in that there are things that I can do by applying lessons taught and following people with experience.
I have learned how to do my work on time and I am much more self-disciplined than when I was in school. (The ironic thing is my school teaches us how to be self-disciplined but it didn't work)
Yes, that is very ironic. Sometimes, things are learned more when it happens organically as opposed to it being forced. Either way, I'm glad you learned that, Rab.
I always try to learn something new every day as well as pass on some of my own morsels of knowledge to others when appropriate. Recently, during a routine doctor's appointment, I learned that I've shrunk an inch. Was not cray about learning that particular tidbit. I didn't think the doctor's aid measured me correctly. Ended up Googling "Do people really shrink?"
Never should have gone down THAT rabbit hole!
LOL
I've learned that an "old dog" can be taught new tricks. I'm still very useful to myself and to many other people.
Tried and true

That's an amazing thing to have learned, Elaine! There really seems to be a movement with people reinventing themselves after a certain age, I read about it often in the AARP magazines...I'm finally a member!!

Good Morning Veronica,
I have learned I am not too old to learn new things even if these things are technical. Who would have thought I would be making websites? for sure not me but there you see I did it. I think you missed my last post, here comes. Heartfelt Happy Christmas Wishes to the WA Family. Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Unless someone has some sort of mental illness, not being able to learn is a based on a decision, not the age. That's a great lesson, Taetske.
