Excerpts from the book, The Greatest Salesman in the World, by Og Mandino.

The Greatest Salesman in the World was written to serve as a guide for success in business and in life, as seen through the life of a camel boy, Hafiid, as he embarks on his journey to become the greatest salesman in the world.

Over the next 10 days, we will explore the 10 principles of success, found in the scrolls given to Hafid, centuries ago.

The Scroll Marked X:

"I will pray for guidance."

Personal Thoughts:

Regardless of your religious beliefs, this really has to do with tapping into a power greatest than yourself, whoever or whatever that represents for you.

Final Thoughts:

It seems as if we have come to the end of our journey. But fear ye not! There's more! You'll notice that I have 2 tattered books in the photo...yes, there's a Part 2!!! And as luck would have it, there are 10 other principles of success, so I will definitely write another series, possibly in Agust.

The last couple of days have been interesting ones; I was virtually attacked about my Og Mandino series. Apparently, the reasoning, motivation or even the legitimacy of the series was in question. I addressed the person directly as well as the issue (as if I could remain silent, lol) But just as I was typing this, I couldn't help but notice how the attack came just as I was nearing the end of this series.

Coincidence...

I don't think so...I think that as we embark on something new or different, we'll face many obstacles that will test our character and will expose whether or not we have the will to continue.

Aren't we, in some ways, like Hafid, the camel boy, who desired to make more of his life? Wasn't he striving to better his "lot in life"? Were not the principles given to him, to be applied to not only business but to areas of his personal life as well?

At the beginning of this series, I mentioned that the instruction of the scrolls was to read each principle 3 times a day for 30 days, before proceeding to the next. I have read this book several times, but never did I make an honest attempt to complete that task...until now. In the last 10 days, I have read Scroll #1, 3 times every day. I have not missed one day or even one of the readings. I refuse to do so. What tomorrow brings, I know not, but I do believe that committing to this one small task is stirring things from within that will shape my character in ways that I cannot even imagine.

Thank you for accompanying me on this journey. I absolutely love talking walks alone for hours at a time, it gives my soul a sense of peace. But this was not a journey I wanted to make alone. I wanted friends with me, to share the journey, so I can see what they saw through their eyes. So, I thank you. Thank you for being with me for the 10 days. Thank you for spurring me forward with your comments. Thank you for inspiring me to continue to write, to share my voice. For every naysayer who shouts from the mountaintop, I know there are thousands of people whispering their words of encouragement.

There is a saying that one termite can do nothing, but a thousand together can take down an oak tree. Thank you for beeing the thousand!
