I Was Gonna But

You ever have one of those days where it seems that you can do everything you want, and nothing is off limits?

Although it was officially Spring In New York a few weeks ago, it's starting to actually feel like Spring. So I thought, what better day than to sit in the park and do some writing. I usually write in my living room or at the kitchen table, so I thought a change in scenery would clear my mind.

I had my bag packed with snacks, a smoothie, notepads, pens, highlighter, and my keyword search spreadsheet notebook. I was ready! I ran a few errands but after about 30-45 min, realized I needed to use the bathroom, so I headed back home. Got home and realized that even though it was now a little after 12 pm, other than an orange, I hadn't eaten, so I ate a banana and had my smoothie. Soon after, I got sleepy...like, really sleepy...I had done some major cleaning on Wednesday and Thursday so I just thought my body was just a little tired...I slept for a little over 2 hours...

After my phone call, I decided to go out again, but it was now overcast, and there was a slight chill in the air...my "mood" had shifted, I was no longer "feeling it". What's a gal to do...

This is the park bench and table I was supposed to be sitting at, writing my next masterpiece...

This is where I ended up instead...

Yeah...that's the futon in my living room...

So...what's the lesson...

Be flexible...the "curve-ball" life may throw at us may not always be a major catastrophe or earth-shattering challenge. Sometimes, it could be a minor interruption or thing delayed. As I near the 50-year mark (EEEKK!) I'm paying more attention to my body. I figure, if I lay down early afternoon and actually sleep for a little over 2 hours, my body needed the rest. If I had to do this every day, there would be cause for alarm, but a few times a month...that's alright by me!

As far as my time in the park...I just went for a nice leisurely walk instead, took in the beautiful sites of Spring, enjoyed the smell of fresh cut grass and decided to use the rest of the evening to catch up on my email and clean up my site a bit. Not what I had planned, but it turned into a nice alternative.

My little "detour" allowed me to gaze upon this beautiful tree...

That's all for now folks! Until next time...

Strive to Thrive,
Veronica

Ta, William!

Lol! Great plans are likely to change!
Adapting and working through it are the key!
Love your adventures, Veronica :-)

Glad you enjoyed it, John!

It is great to be flexible, Veronica! It is good to hear our body talking either! Nice park!

That's the outskirts of Forest Park, which is the 2nd largest park in New York City, Central Park being the largest one.

Well, I would have to say that the futon looks comfier... Plus, you did manage to get the fresh air, too, so it's a win-win. And that's lovely tree.

Yes, my futon nap was very comfortable! Thanks for reading, Craig!

Horary for you Waddie gal. You rocked it like a cat in a cradle!

Good to see you, Papa Waddie!

:))! Veronica!

Thanks for sharing, Veronica.

Thanks, Roger!

You're welcome, Veronica.

It seems as though you had a pretty good day Veronica. Seldom do my days turn out as planned but at the end of each day I'm grateful for most of what happened. What I'm not grateful for, I try to forget!!

An enjoyable read Veronica. Thank you :)

"What I'm not grateful for, I try to forget!!" You are a wise woman, Valerie. I'll have to remember that thought. Thanks for stopping by!

My pleasure Veronica.
Take care - see you again soon :)

Aren't we lucky to be able to be so flexible. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Thanks for reading, Debbie!

In the evening when I review my day, it happens to me too that I've to admit to myself, that I didn't do what I had in mind in the morning. Luckily that doesn't happen too often.
Wishing you a wonderful Easter holiday.

It's bound to happen from time-to-time, we just have to go with the flow. Have an enjoyable Easter as well, Eric.

Nice, I would have thought it would be a bit chilly for work outside ... nice fresh air all the same, give it another few weeks & out doors will be warmer ... could be more distractions though :)

It was in the 60's today and supposed to go up to the 80's tomorrow. Even when I'm home alone, I can get distracted, so if I have the right mindset, I'll be good. Thanks for stopping by, Mary.

Your very welcome ... good luck with your work ;)
