Getting Diggy With Comments

Did you ever "discover" something, but deep down, you realize that its something that's so obvious that you should have recognized it a long time ago? Yeah...well, I had one of those moments just a few minutes ago. For those who may not know, there are a few ways you can give and receive comments. Let's continue, shall we.

Set Your Sights on Site Rubix

Most of us should know by now the incredible system Kyle and Carson set up through Site Rubix. For every 2 comments you leave people, you receive one comment in return. Why do we have to leave two comments to get one? That is indeed one of the mysteries of the world...

I've used it many times, and actually like the system. Although I've read some complaints, I found that the comments I received were very insightful, not just "great post". It seemed that people were actually reading my post! And if they didn't, well I say "Bravo!" for being very convincing.

Although this has been discussed countless times, I feel compelled to leave this clause:

A comment is what you leave after reading someone's post. You can share what you may ay have learned, what you liked, or even ask a question...about the post. This is NOT the place to critique the post or website. That can be done through...

Site Feedback - Here you can give honest and respectful critique about the site. But make sure you pay attention to the critique the writer is asked for; don't give an overall critique of the site, when the writer asked for a critique on the content.

There... I said it...

The Thread That Binds

Another option is through the thread that Kyle provides:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Unlike with Site Rubix where you can sometimes see the same posts pop up, there's an endless supply of posts to comment on through this thread. Also, for every comment you leave, you get one. And one of my biggest likes about using this, is that I don't have to worry about that dreaded "Your comment is not unique." As if!!!

It seems like a lot of the newer members participate in this, so it's also great way to encourage some newer members.

My New Discovery

Earlier, I was responding to question from comment, and I realized that I could just click right onto their site from my back office, because it appears right under their name!

Now, before anyone gets all huffy, this site has been discontinued. Therefore, I am not promoting my site.

Now, if I knew had to add those cut little yellow arrow, I would. But, since I don't - yet - you'll just have to squint with me. Under my name is the name of my site; you can just click right onto that to go directly to their site. Easy breezy!

When I say I just found this out like an hour ago, I'm not just saying that for dramatic affect. Going forward, I'm going to get in the habit of leaving everyone a comment as soon as I respond to the comments they left me, that way I don;t have to worry about whether or not I missed someone.

This really is a "Win/Win" situation here: As you continue to engage with others, you can pick up great - sometimes brilliant - ideas for your content and the layout of your site. And of course, there's the ever-present SEO thinggie always lurking behind us.

Sorry if you were looking for something ground-breaking here; I just felt happier than a pig in mud when I found this out, so I'm sharing with the hope that I amnot the only one who was clueless.

Anyway...back to work! Spread the love and leave quality comments.

Awesome job Veronica, there is a proverb, it says "only the fool rejects training", i love your posts, i myself need all the help training I can get. So keep posting and I'll keep enjoying
Them.

You're too kind, Patrick. Believe me when I say, I need all the help I can get, too! We're learning together.

I meant every word Veronica I'm older and need to do allot of reprogramming and rewiring in the old brain cells. Lol

I thoroughly enjoy reading what others write. I learn something new with every blog post and I think it's important to let them know I appreciated what was written.

I've used Site Comments a few times and need to get back in there again soon. Giving back is important.

Loved the post, V, and, of course, the info on clicking on the url for quick access.

All the best,
Sue

I really felt goofy that I didn't notice that before....like months ago. But, whatever...such is life. Learn something early...learn it late...as long as you learn...

Thank you for sharing your tips .I'll try it ^^

You're so welcome!

Thanks for this Veronica. To be honest, I have not really utilized site comments yet but it's on my list and I will, because it sounds like great system.

Also, I actually enjoy reading posts and leaving comments. It can be quite time-consuming, especially if you're adding value in your comment which I believe is necessary, but like all things one has to just be disciplined about how much time you spend on it.

I'm always amazed at how much is written on WA about the confusion between comments and feedback.

It just seems so obvious to me, but maybe that's just because English is my first language?

I can't think of any other reason why people get this confused, can you?

~Mark

I don't know, Mark. It seems like a lot of the confusion was coming from people with English as their first language, so I'm not sure why this topic keeps coming up.

I think word association helps with remembering things: When I think of "comment" I think of chatting with a friend. So, after reading a post, I'd chat with that person about it, what I liked, how it relates to anything I've done, or ask any questions.

I relish any opportunity to read other people's post. I learn so much, not just on the subject matter, but just in seeing a different style of writing. I inevitably have to fight the urge to want to delete everything from my site and start from scratch, lol. But yes, it can be time-consuming, but as with everything else, it requires being disciplined with your time.

That is a great way to leave comments on other people's sites after they have left one on yours.
The simplest things are usually in plain for us all to see.
Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't believe that I never noticed that before, Karen. Hidden in plain sight, as the saying goes. Always good to see your lovely face and feel your generous spirit, Karen.

Thank you so much for sharing Veronica

You got it, Kashinga.

Wait...what? LOL!

I sense confusion from you, Wendy...

I'm sorry Veronica, I thought you were referring to site comments. But you're not. My eyes are getting old. I didn't realize you were in the dashboard of your WP site. I think I understand now. :-)

This is something very useful to know. Well done for making a discovery that is helpful. Thank you for sharing it too.

Thanks for reading, Tania and I'm glad it was helpful.
