Hi there,

Do you run a travel blog or travel related site, and are interested in connecting? We could help each other out with relevant comments, feedback, and social med

Great post, thanks for sharing. I have plans however not there yet.

FYI, we have a lot of programs based or focusing on that region via Awin.com. If you'd like to know about any of them, let me know.

Hi,

I am looking to partner with Viator and Booking dot com.

To work with those two programs, do you need a certain amount of page views or visitors, or do they have pretty much automatic approval?

Don't want to apply too early and get denied due to being a new site.

Thank you,

Both Viator and Booking.com have shown a willingness to work with sites of all sizes. It's more about the content than the quantity of visitors - I'd rather have fewer readers who are truly engaged than mass quantities of readers who don't really care.

Both Companies have listings here on WA:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affiliate-programs/viator-a-tripadvisor-company-us
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affiliate-programs/booking-com-roomsales-us

If you run into anythng, just let me know and I'll be glad to help.

Thank you for your feedback! That all sounds great,

Hi Veronica,

Yes, I'm interested! I have a travel/lifestyle type blog geared towards baby boomers. I would be interested in collaborating with you to help each other out. How do you want to proceed?

Hi Mary-Elle,

Great to connect. I will send you a PM, and we can continue the discussion there.

Looking forward to collaborating,

Nice very nice :-)

Sound really interesting. We do not have a travel niche.
I am curious! How do we interpret Kyles No signatures at the end of your posts (posting your website URL, image, etc)

I am seeing more and more website URLs posted in blogs,

Wonder what is OK to do.

What do you think?

Hi there,
The question is updated, link removed, I've been away from WA for a while so wasn't aware of that. All taken care of :)

Great! Your idea is really great!

I'm debating about using CDN for images mainly, on one of my sites.
The site loads under 2s, so not too bad, but kind of curious of what a CDN would do and how it works...

Hi Vicky, I do not use CDN. Irv.

The main thing a CDN does, it delivers content that has many users from big, well connected servers.
On the other hand: Every Browser has a cache. Things allready requested are not needed to request again. But this works only, if the source url is the same.
Example:
Most wordpress themes (and maybe most websites out there) use the jquery.js javascript library. So it is very likely that one of your users has it in is cache. If you use a main jquery CDN like this: "https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.1.0.min.js" most users browser dont have to download it from your server. That leads to reduce the page load.
BTW: There are a lot public CDNs with the main and only prupose to deliver files of frameworks and scripts that are used often, to reduce the overall internet data on the world wide web.
Google loves this too, so it's worth to think about, as it is a ranking criteria:
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/

However, the effect is small and as long you don't have a high traffic site with huge server costs, you not really need to think about this seriously.

Thank you this helps a lot!

Not there yet. but will keep your bookmarked reference in mind when I am.

I use a CDN on one site that's a magazine style, so lots of images. It's on managed hosting & the CDN is part of the package.. Definitely helps to speed it up.

But for a regular site I'd look at the usual ways to speed the site up first. ( You'll find training by WA members) And 2 seconds is a pretty good load time.

Thank you

I have not used a CDN before, but I would say 2s was pretty good. not sure if a CDN would improve that too much. Have you shrunk your image file sizes? What file types are your images .jpg, .png?

Yes, I use a plugin to manage the image file size.

Whai nis CDN please?
Thanks
Heidi

I added the description of a CDN in the question :)

sent you a PM

Thank you for the description. I still don't know why I would use it and how. But that is not a problem!

I'm currently not using a CDN, but if the opportunity comes up to test it out, I'll definitely let you know my thoughts on it.

Great thank you

I haven't had time to get on here lately , got too much to get done , im the only one here, the wife can't walk so i'm stuck trying to get on here! gets me aggravated, when i want to get on here, i have other stuff to do, when i don't feel like it i should!!

Hi Vicky,
I'm here to build my own future, not someone else's.

I like that!!

I'm here to get more Freedom, freedom for more family time, more travel, not to be doing anymore 12 hour day and night shifts as i currently do. To be able to choose my own working hours, but also in the process of this to help others also gain more freedom, both personal and financial . Achieve success and be proud of what i do

Love it Chris! It's different putting in those 12 hours for your self and your business than it is to do for somebody else's...

I agree it'd be much more rewarding and fullfilling putting it into my business than for someone elses alright.

Hi! Vicky,
I am here to supplement my retirement income and to add value to my Logistics business. When I am older and greyer I would like to be in a position to just stay on the phone, computer and make a good living.

Good luck with your future endeavors.

James

Great reasons James
Thank you,

I am here at WA to build a business and to get out of my 9 to 5 job. To have the freedom to do more things, more time with my family and obviously a more secure financial future. I want an Identity. I believe that here at WA I can have all of these and more.

Yes the freedom... Identity is a big one for me as well. I love being home with my kids, but I also wanted to create something for me. Something that I could be proud of... hope that makes sense :)

I have 3 main reasons why i am here:
1. I want to make money and do what i like for my life.
2. I am getting old and I can't stand being employed, I want my own business.
3. I want to work at home and be with my family.

Great reasons! I think it's important for our children to see that we follow our heart as well...

My reasons for being here are many, I'm unable to do a regular job because I am a carer for my disabled mother. I'm happy to do this, but it does mean I have literally zero income, so I need a way to create an income for obvious reasons.

Secondly, Like yourself I value my freedom and independence. I struggle with the daily grind and prefer answering to myself. Working 40/50 hours a week to make someone else rich while I barely break even isn't my idea of living.

Yes, I agree, we can take those 40 hours and invest into ourselves and our business instead...

Family! All the way. To have the freedom to be with my kids more and take my family on more vacations. Yes, that is my why.

Agree, we are here for the same reasons :) how are things going here at WA?

I'm here to also be able to spend more time with my family and for us to be able to travel. I want to build a better quality of life for us.

I like that better quality of life... what better way to do that than with family and travel.

I'm here because I want a lifestyle change and learn to help others. I want to quit my 9 to 5 job so that I have the freedom to travel when I want to. I hate having to build up time to take off and then having to request it off, not always guaranteeing I will get the time off I have requested.

That's the beauty of working for yourself, you get a yes answer to that time off :) it's not about working less it's about working on your own terms...

Because I never wanted to spend 40 years of my life working in a cubicle to make someone else rich. That never made sense to me. I wanted complete control over my own life.

Steve great to see you, it's been a while. How are things going?

Totally agree with you!! Freedom on so many levels...

Hi,
I`m doing a post about Twitter.
I want to include some Twitter experts, so if you have more than 25K followers on Twitter and are interested in participating please

Looking forward to reading your post.

Hope you get some great replies Vicky, are you posting here or to your blog?
Mark

On my blog...

Ok

Sorry I don't twit

I guess like a lot of people I have had a Twitter account for a long time but never really known how to use it well.

I have over 4,000 followers but I rarely visit the site these days....so anything that would help me to learn how to market more effectively would be interesting to me..

I will look forward to reading your post Vicky....

Thanks Kevin, will let you know when it`s up.

Very interesting post! Looking forwards to seeing the replies and the feedback from the social media gurus!

Don't know anything about twitter, but there's gonna be a Twitter beginner course at my work in a couple of weeks, and of course I'm going there! So looking forward to what will appear here!
Tarja

Got to take advantage of that, let us know how it goes!

Oh yes, I'll let you know. I was asked to join the Social Media Work Group at my work, mainly to promote the company and answer customer mail, and tweet with the customers. So that Twitter course is part of it, but I will naturally use it for my own advantage as well. The timing is just perfect! :)

Can't go wrong......being paid to be taught twitter at work and a free course for your business, sounds like a win/win to me :-))
Mark

Absolutely Mark, I am a lucky lady!

Lucky is one of the best things to be Tarja. .....everything falls into place after it!
Mark

I look forward to your post. I could use help on twitter.

I would research Kim Garst and Social Cents, as well. She is a big name on Twitter.. Founder of boom!Social and Periscope... I am looking forward to hearing more from you on this...

Yes, Kim Garst is big on Twitter. Don`t like the way she sells though. I got one of her courses, only $9 but it promised to show how to build your Twitter business in 15 minutes a day, think the words were even dominate :) Twitter in 15 minutes a day...

The problem was just that you had to BUY another product for the $9 tutorial to work... don`t like that kind of marketing, that should have been disclosed in the first place... anyway.
Will probably do a review on that one lol.

Will let you know when the Twitter post is up,

I was getting that feeling.. Looking at one of her emails today, she said something about free but, yse, 9 dollars to get her "free" information! Ha! You have to admit she is a pretty savvy lady!! LOL!

Yes lol. I don`t have a problem paying for a product if it will deliver... I will figure this Twitter thing out and then I might write a tutorial on it :)

I'm about to create a twitter account for my site and need all the help I can get, as I've never used it before. Looking forward to reading this!

Yes, I`m taking on the Twitter game too :) trying to figure out the best way to take use of it for my business. Doing some different things now will be tracking the results and I will probably do a case study on it...

Are you going to be posting that here? Sounds like a good read.

it will be posted on my website itsVicky.com

Hi Dads,

After a successful “moms making their first money online” post over on my site it`s now dad`s turn. I`m doing a “dads success post” to inspire other dads.

I

This is a great idea! I have been a stay at home dad for nearly 3 years now. Ever since I left the 9-5 racket (more like 12-12 rotating shifts racket) I was able to finally focus on my studies, network marketing, training, and a host of business endeavors, but the most important thing, I have been there on a regular basis for my kids (Father of 5 with age ranges of 5, 9, 12, 15 and 19) Once I was able to reorganize, and prioritize, everything has been so much better. I keep myself busy ( 8 years of the Army can put you in that mindset), and living in Iceland in a really, tiny town, and not much to do, all of my endeavors are getting accomplished. I would love to be a part of this. :-)

Hi,
What a great story you have. Sounds like you are spending lots of quality time with the kids.
I would love to include you in this, could you please send me a PM with a little more of what you do, I would really appreciate it.

Iceland how did you end up there :) I have been there, beautiful place but it`s cold :) and I`m a Swede :)

Thanks,
Vicky

Veronica,
Fantastic idea! Dad income responsibilities is stressful. Shared success experiences will be be inspiring for many of us!

Thanks, I will let you all know when it`s up

I am a Dad of a 22 month old daughter and although I got my start before fatherhood, I have been full time within this crazy online world for 13 years now.

I would not trade this time for anything in the world and I also would not trade my ability to work from home and be with my little one for anything in the world.

I can say that anyone is capable of anything that they are willing to work for. My road/journey has not be a linear one, there have been some major dives and some major upswings, but that is what makes being in business so exciting. If you persevere and persist, your highest high will always be higher than that last.

Thanks Kyle! Love it!
I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.

You started the work a long time ago and today, not only you but your whole family can enjoy that valuable time together.

Start the work today and you can ripe the rewards down the road...

Thanks Kyle!

I missed mother's day as I didn't realize it is that soon so I am all gearing up on father's day.
Anyway do have fun and see you around.

Thanks for chiming in :)

I'm not a success yet but I will be I'm on a 12 month plan to make money. My web site is up and running and if you wish to use it for promotion then do so newagepowersiterubix.com
Lindon

We all define success differently, but being here learning and implementing is a success!

This should be a interesting site.

The mom success post turned out real well, hoping for the same with the dad post.

Hello Veronica,
I just want to drop a line to let you know I'm not ignoring your message. My issue is simply that I'm eye deep in a job search and since unemployment is holding up my insurance until we resolve some issues that's front burner for a bit (WA overall is back burner for a little while as I sort this out). After I get going again I'll be happy to support your effort. Hey, I'm three times a dad and I think that this (WA) will become a great asset.
Thanks,

Ed

Thanks Ed, good luck with everything!
Vicky

Hoping it turns around for you Ed! Abiding by the unemployment insurance requirements while job searching is time consuming and restricting.

While that is on the forefront for you, log your ideas for WA while you resolve the immediate. When circumstances allow you can be ready to run with your ideas, having most likely built up some great ones!

Best to you,
Suz

Hello Veronica.I, Thank you.
Best,

Ed

Hi Vicky.

I'm lucky, in that I'm a programmer. I wrote a web program to help me do something once (it was document management of sorts), and realised others could use the program too.

So I uploaded it, and started selling it. Over and over and over again.

I wrote other programs and did the same...

Then I wrote a hotel booking program, and rather than a one off fee, I hosted it on my server - and charged a monthly fee to hotels for using it, and helping to manage their bookings.

That was 12 years or so ago now, and although the one off programs have all but stopped (due to so many free services out there now), my hotel booking program is still running, and still generating monthly income all these years later.

I've done a few websites over the years too - but rather than one off fees for doing it - my offer is a monthly hosting and maintenance package, where I take care of all of the updates, and provide one hour of my time per month. If the client wants more changes, I charge them for them - it's my time after-all - any business would charge for their services.

Of course after coming to WA, I did the affiliate bootcamp to learn what marketing is.

So now as well as my booking program, I have a number of other sites - one my better half runs, selling word-art frames. I have another selling clan clocks, and others managing tour bookings and so on.

My latest is finally around one of my passions - and although in its early stages, has the potential to be monetized at some point. for now, I'm happy just to keep posting to it, and keep my other sites/programs up to date.

That one is called http://whenthestarscomeout.com

I don't know if that all counts as success - I'm happy, I have a wonderful family - and I'm generating a good lifestyle income.

I wrote about making money on-line on my blog here: http://setupinonlinebusiness.com/how-long-does-it-take-to-make-money-on-line - that is my WA promotional site, and does have affiliate links back to WA - but it directly answers the question, at least how it applies to me.

I really hope that's the sort of thing you're looking for. I'm happy to talk to anyone who wants to do what I do - I may not have done it the right way, and I've certainly made a lot of mistakes - but you don't learn unless you make them imho.

All the best Vicky,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Nice story! Of course it counts as success!
That`s what it`s all about finding your happiness, spending time with your family, living life on your own terms.

I enjoyed your site, "When the Stars Come Out".

Is it ok if I share some of this on as part of my success post?

Thanks Mark, appreciate you taking the time to do this,
Vicky

Hi Vicky - thank you very much - I'd be really happy if you wanted to share any of my post - I just hope it gives some inspiration out to people that may be doubting this.

If I'd known what "marketing" actually was when I first started, I'd probably be typing this from my own island somewhere - but sitting looking out over the Highlands of Scotland - I'm not so sure I haven't actually already achieved what I wanted in life.

If I've made it so far without marketing, then having a community like this, that is driven to support each of its members can only mean it's a matter of time before everyone here gains success, whatever that means to each individual.

Please let me know when you post (with or without any of my contribution) and I'll be sure to share and comment to help get the message out.

Cheers Vicky,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I think you are so right, we all define success differently. To me being able to work from home, be there for my kids, set a good example and making decent money doing so is a success.

Yes, I will let you know when it`s live. I will include you for sure :).

Here is the mom one, just to give you an idea...

Thank you - I've seen your post for moms already (I follow you as I think you have an invaluable sight into how the whole marketing arena works).

And thank you for including my post - hopefully it inspires a couple of people.

Thanks Mark :) and thanks for participating.
I`m sure it will inspire!!
