Coping With Job Burnout

I don’t drink, smoke, gamble or have any other vices. So, why do I feel like I fell off the wagon!

I’m a very hard worker, but for the last few weeks I find that I am spending hours just staring at the computer screen instead of getting things accomplished. Coping with job burnout is not an easy thing to overcome. Am I overwhelmed, distracted, bored, burned out or just plain lost?

I do think that I am overwhelmed because there is so much work for me to do that I am floundering instead of moving forward. This seems to be happening even though I have a plan for each day! I’m doing this all by myself as many of us are, but I don’t see how people get things done so quickly; especially with a learning curve!

It seemed that I wasn’t making any headway with my first website. It looks good and I think I am offering good information, but I still couldn’t seem to get the needed traffic. I even hired an SEO person who worked on my site for 3 months. I waited for the improved traffic that never came.

The next thing I did was to try to go another route completely thinking that maybe the first site (affiliate marketing) wasn’t a good choice. In hind sight, I probably should have just stuck with that one because there were still many tasks that remain undone.

My mind racing trying to figure things out, I decided to leave the affiliate site and try an e-commerce retail site. I didn’t leave WA, but I also joined up with another company that cost me more money than I ever wanted to pay. I have learned some things that I didn’t already know, but I know for sure that I will be moving the e-commerce site over to WA as soon as my time is up with the other company. I will be with them for another 4 months.

When I stopped working my WA site and began creating my e-commerce site that was at the end of October 2016. I kept checking back with WA, but I really didn’t do any work on it. I was in the top 200 when I stopped working on that site. The last time I checked my rank was like 1080!

Last week I thought I needed to try to do some work on my WA site so I wouldn’t lose so much ground. Then I thought that I had to get back to the e-commerce site because during these last few weeks I just haven’t accomplished anything there either! So, now I have to find a way to work on both of these sites so neither of them is just sitting there stagnant!

I feel like I made a wrong decision out of frustration and impatience. I have been with WA since June 2015 without seeing success.

I really believe that my problem is marketing. Social media is definitely not my strong suit. I find that it is difficult to keep up with them all. I’m not very creative so finding that “hook” to catch attention is difficult for me. I really wish I could hire someone to do it for me, but I know it will cost an arm and a leg for anyone to do that on a continuing basis.

I just feel that if I could see some semblance of traffic improvement it would boost my failing work ethic.

Today my one goal is to create a work schedule for both of these websites to allow for work to be completed on them on a more regular schedule. Creating my tasks schedule over the weekend will allow me to start on Monday with a fresh attitude and more control over my work load.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, it’s time for you to find your way back to work along with me. Job burnout recovery takes some time. The first step is the hardest, but it can be overcome. If I can do so can you. Cope with job burnout. Don’t run from it.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to check out this blog. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated. You can even "like" it if you want!

Cheers,

Verna

Hi Verna,

I just came across your blog, and I can relate to the frustration.

Then one member introduced me to Bo Tipton training that works with what you're currently working on.

For me, I have three websites two of the three I'm not working on. But I'm working on my Niche site first according to Bo just work on one.

I would not want to hire anyone who may not know more than what I'm learning.

I started with WA in 2012-2013 and made the mistake of leaving Now I'm back this year with all the desire to see these sites finished.

I hope I've added some comfort knowing that you're not alone here,

Carl

Thanks Carl. I appreciate the encouragement.

I've got three other sites just waiting in the wind for me to get to them. But, I have to stick to the first one and get that one right before I can move on to the others.

I think we've all been there Verna! I hope we can all stay focused now and get on with making it in the affiliate marketing world.

Blessings,
Debby

Hi Debby,

Yes, you are probably right. Many of us have hit that brick wall, i'm sure! When we take a tumble we just have to get back up on the horse. Thanks for your comments. Wish you much success.
