BOT: YOUR BLOG ISN'T ORIGINAL.

ME: MY HIGH LEVEL OF ENGLISH HAS BEEN PROVED MANY TIMES. I AM THE WINNER OF THE CITY MATHS OLYMPIAD WHEN AT THE 6 GRADE.

BOT: THE CONTENT SHOULD NOT BE COPIED.

ME: I CAN NOT COPY.I HAVE SQUINTED EYES.

BOT: WE FOUND YOUR BLOG CONTENT PUBLISHED ON OTHER WEBSITE.

ME: WHO GOT INTO MY BRAIN?

BOT: WE CAN'T PUBLISH YOUR BLOG.

ME: GONSCEROYA...AAAAA.....

Bot: Your blog content needs to be unique, original

Me: But it is. I write all my texts myself. Always. Maybe you want me to take away these two quotes? OK.

Bot: Your blog content needs to be not copied from anywhere online.

Me: Can't even imagine what I can do. Yes, there are two more quotes from Remarque's books. But I translated them myself. They have not been on any site. OK, I'm taking them away.

Bot: We found that your blog content is already published on other website(s).

Me: You want me to to take away the quote on which the blog built? But I can't do it.

And seriously,I would like to get some guidelines on the changed rules of publishing blog content. It's not the first time that I've tried to place some excerpt from a poem, or an article from the site with the proper citation and reference to the source. The blog couldn't go through. But why?

I guess It's always good if my opinion is backed up by somebody having authority in the field I am writing about. The more opinions are given, the better.

Then, loving literature and poetry I sometimes want to build a blog around some poem, or a book, or a song maybe.Looks like bringing any part of a verse is not possible now. Once again- I use proper citation and point to the source.

Today I spent about two hours doing a blog on Remarque's phrase about significance of love and not significance of the weather. It's been disallowed.:(

Aww I'm sorry I hope you figure it out! I love reading you blogs!

Oh yes, thanks, Leighnih..:))

Hi Vera,
Wow, that's terrible! I don't write too many WA blogs, I have a hard enough time writing blogs for my 2 websites. But I love to read them every now and then. There's so many great writers here. I need to start writing some and see what's going on. I hope you get the problem taken care of.
Gina

oh yeah, thanks. Looking forward to reading yours..:))

So when you talked to Kyle or support about it did he give you answer as to what is going on.

I didn't actually.
I guess not so many people came across this problem. I know only one person but me.I mean not many people write using allusions to literary works, or songs, or whatever. If it happens again, I will report it.

My God Vera, what is going on, since when have we had to do what the robots tell us.
If I am writing a post about some illness and herbs that help it I often use research studies, and citations I don't expect people to believe me without a little backup.:-))Steph

Yes, sure Steph, we work as mediators between professional people in our area and our readers. We do need citations and references to their works. It's the NORM of writing.Till recent time it was fine here to do exactly that.In many of my posts (I have various interests) there were citations properly organised and links to the source, and it was fine. But it's the last three posts that I've had troubles with it.
But you don't worry , Steph- maybe it's the feature of the blog platform only here at WA.It has nothing to do with your site, I guess. But it's sure very unpleasant. :))

Norm of writing, is he the one who programs these robots? If so, have a word with Kyle, maybe he can ask Norman not to be so heavy handed. Sorry, but I used to love cheers, the comedy with Ted Danson, where everyone used to shout "NORM" when that character walked into the Bar. Sorry for being facetious.:-))Steph

I love it, Steph.I love it when people laugh and I love to laugh myself. But I can't imagine who is the one standing behind the robot and why he is programed to ban citations. Seems stupid to me, and I found the way to use them. Totallly stupid- those ready on the posters go through easily, and those you use manually cause troubles. You can look at my blog if you have time. What is that he didn't like saying the content was not original?:)

I will always make the time to look at your blogs Vera, most of the time because I know how easily distracted I am, I don't allow myself to look at my emails before I have done something on my website, but today it is mothers day, so I am sat with a cuppa being kind to myself, no snapping of the whip today. So I am off now to read your other blog.:-))Steph

Also, Vera, you have no need to copy anyone, you have enough intelligence to be totally original. Silly Norman Robot:-))Steph

Eeeek, if Bots are allowed to rule the internet, I'm going back to real books, notebook and pen. Can we revolt against Bots? Sue :)
PS: No idea if this has been said anywhere else!

That's what I mean, Sue...We can sure paraphrase what's said in scientific articles, but why? BUT- can we paraphrase poetry, or even classic prose? See in Rick's comment what he says...:)

Definitely agree with Rick's first paragraph! :)

Oh thanks , but I agree with his whole comment. How to do without cultural references? BTW, I still published the blog in question. I know how to outwit the bot, but i don't like doing that too much....lol..:))

Bot revolt, Bot revolt, us not them!

that's very interesting.

I hear you Vera LOUD AND CLEAR! It is a problem worth bringing up!

Oh yes, Mike.:)

great website for clients development session with jay tonight Vera. Here is my "apocalypse post" today!

Good and sad post, Mike,
And i found the way to publish my yesterday's blog- have you seen it?

Stupid robots. Why don't we disallow the robots, Vera? You are a one-of-a-kind, and we are lucky to have you here!!

Uh Oh, the words "Stupid Robots" were used in an Isaac Asimov novel, reprinted on the internet, sometime in the last 2 decades! Disallowed...disallowed...

This comment will self destruct in...Uh Oh, Mission Impossible reference...Your content must be original...

Disallowed...disallowed...Danger, Will Robinson!...Oh, No! How can we live without cultural references?? :))

I don't know. I will not be able to write half of what I want to, to put it mildly.:)

Hi Vera,
WOW!!! That's terrible. I thought as long as you had proper citations in your article, it was okay, but I guess not. That's the way I was taught how to write a proper article. Maybe those "bot" things don't see it that way. It's always something to try to discourage people from doing what they love to do. Don't let them win!!! Have a good weekend, take care my friend.
Mary

Thanks, Mary. I am a bit at a loss- don't know what is right now.:)
