We Are What We Think

When I was 7, I thought I was big.

When I was 10, I thought I was very clever.

When I was 14 I thought I was ugly.

When i was 19 I decided I was beautiful.

when I was 25 I thought I lacked brain.

Now I understand I am a grown up, very beautiful and far from being stupid.

This is not my text, I only translated it. But I could well have written it. It so well serves my purpose today.

Jokes aside, what do you think of yourself?

When you only came here at WA, what did you think of yourself?

Did you think you were clever, stupid, capable/incapable of learning?Capable/incapable of writing good texts?

How did all these concepts change?

We are what we think of ourselves. Nothing more and nothing less.

Think well of yourself.

Have a good weekend!:)

Yes absolutely! Cheers, William.

Thanks much, William!:)

I think most people never think of themselves in a particular way. Thought is sponateneous. Some days I feel great. like I can achieve anything. Somedays I question my ambitions. Every day is different and so am I.

Yes, true. But still there's a general concept of ourselves with which we live. Like I've written, a teenage girl might be unhappy about her appearance and lives with the concept"I am ugly" ... till the time something clicks and she realises she is beautiful.
The same can be with adults. A person lives with the idea "I can't do this" limiting themselves ...till the time something clicks and they understand they can!

Self-perception can be colored by many things, so it is essential that we take an objective look at ourselves every so often, adjusting our view as we mature and age. Thanks!

My pleasure, Barry. Thank you!:)

Right on, Vera. How we feel about ourselves is very important, and contributes to how others feel about us. :)

Yep!
Oscar Wilde:
"American women behave as if they were beautiful. That's the secret of their charm.":)))

Your thoughts are filtered through your actions and psychological rewards and consequences gained along the way!

Not always I guess. If we learn to guide our thoughts, it's different.:)

You have a great weekend, Vera.

You too, Rog:))

Thanks and please do the same, Jay

Thanks, Jay. Actually, I sometimes think better than I am. It helps...lol:))

And one step further is expecting yourself to be better than you really are. Agree... it does help. Good day. Jay

:)))

Simple as... Vera, thank you! Sue :)

Yeah. Many good things are simple. Thanks, Sue.:)

When I first started out at WA, I was scared. I knew nothing about computers. I used my fear as motivation. I was dedicated in learning. It's been a little over a year now. I have learned so much. I still have that dedication and fear. I guess that's why I have learned so much.
Thank you for sharing this.

It's my pleasure. It's cool to use fear as motivation. The best way to beat it.:))

Writing content was a challenge for me when i started here at WA. I am a very quiet person so i don't know to communicate well with people , but as in many things with life, the more you practice it the better you get, it has been the same with me so far.

I always thought i am capable, but surely lazy and procrastinate a lot. I live in India, there are lots lots of people here, it makes you wonder where you ,and your goals , and your dreams rank amongst all these people, so doubting yourself becomes easy.

But if you have to do something different than others, be satisfied with who and what you are, then you have to walk the path others don't

Yes, very true,. Do your own thing and practise. :))
