Rick has told me today it's been a rough week.

In just some more days teachers and kids are out of school. Now they are on a survival mode.I am doing this post to cheer up Rick and maybe to cheer up those WA members who are also teachers.

Rick, ambassador #8 as of today, a song writer, musician whose band has played in 500+ places, author of phenomenal posts , is a teacher at school.

How does he do it? I don't know. Being a teacher myself, I know how much patience, energy, knowledge, love for your subject and love for the students it takes every day.

A musician. You go to the stage and die there and recover, and empty yourself to the full and get energy from the audience.Concert by concert. Many years.

Writing. Good writing happens when you can't but write. There's a lot of good writing done by Rick. His songs. His stories, His posts here.

How does he do it all?

I want to tell you a big "thank you" today, Rick, for you being so kind and generous, for allowing us to share in all the magic you produce, for giving away your secrets which are many.

I wanted to ask for your photo for this post, but then I understood I would have to explain what I need it for , and you might not like the idea, etc..

So we are going to have a portrait made of some pieces. It's OK. You are a very versatile person.

Rick is cool,

Rick is nice,

With his shrewd brown eyes.

No time for the beach,

Always busy as a bee.

Cool guitarist,

in

Investigator.

Ardent fan of his favourite "Gators".

Writes cool stories,

Inspires others,

Mind with a twist,

A key to kids...

RICK THE TEACHER

Rick the teacher, mobbed by the kids,

Rick the teacher, the one who best fits,

Rick the teacher, school’s superstar,

Teachers life, not just three Rs.

Teachers books, music and life.

All the children such teachers love.

I wish I had had such a teacher at school.

But even now it’s totally cool

To know and follow Rick in WA,

Be able to learn from him day by day ...

To learn from him rhyme and rhythm and word-

Inspiration till now unheard.

Imagination always stirred…

Thank you, Rick.

I learned many a trick

From you….

Can you crack this one?:))

We have chosen wisely, Rick. We have chosen you.You inspire...:))

My hat's off to all teachers. Many are underappreciated and underpaid.

Yes, it's so very true and unfair, Pablo.:)

Thank you, Vera, for exposing the truth. And thank you for Rick who can manage to have several engagements with an outstanding work everywhere.

Thanks, Jimmy!

Thanks so much, Vera, but, heck, I'm just a guy who likes to write. :)) . p.s. : in-vest-i-gator. :))

My pleasure, Rick.I knew you would say something like that, and I am also the one who likes to write...
in-vesti-gator is correct....A Gator person couldn't have gone wrong!:)))

Hiya Vera.
Hope you will allow me to jump on the bandwagon and echo your appreciation of Rick.
As the upper English class would say - he is a good egg.
As the working Scottish class would say - he's a richt guid yin.
(Both basically the same).
My favourite thing about Rick - his smile. When reading his blogs, you just know that they come to us with a wry grin.
Thanks Rick and Vera and
Take care
Lynn

Thanks so much, Lynn. Rick's smile, sense of humour make him a good egg, sure...:))

Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure.:)

Great blog. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks much, Evette.

This is absolutely darling, Vera!!!

You and Rick are in your own separate class! Seriously!!! I love the delightfully, twisty, weird mind you two have!

Thank you for blessing us mere mortals with your creative genius!!!

Oh, you are so kind, Veronica. But it's a little bit too much...way too much...
Thank you anyway..:))

This is great Vera, well deserved and using your talent for humor and verse! I love it and many thanks to you both for your inspiration, motivation and support in tough times, Sue :)

Thanks so much, Sue.:))

There you go with all those dyslexic splintered thoughts again Vera. But a world of interest and good comes from it :))

Did I read it correctly, Mike-"dyslexic"?

Yeah. With the milk in the cupboard and frying pan in the fridge!

But it wasn't me, Mike! I just used it, cause it can well describe the situation....Looks like you are right though... lol... I could well have said it!:))

I can feel Rick's fall on his post from here Vere. Something I always have o be on the look out for at my age!

Great tribute to a great guy!

Nicely done, Vera.

Susan

Thank you so much, Susan. :)
