Hail Mary Touchdown
It's a short post with some thoughts on Rick's post as of today. I found the replay of the game and I watched the episode several times admiring the beauty of it.
I am not great at football terminology, besides Rick described everything in detail..

I just see the beauty of the team work, of understanding each other, of the joint spirit of the players. To send the ball over the field in hope your partner will get it! To use the last seconds of a game in a hail mary of a touchdown and make it! Isn't it what we want in sports, in families, in relationships, in communities?
Isn't it what we have here in our WA?

"I closed my eyes and said a Hail Mary"-Roger Staubach
Cowboys and Vikings Game 1975...That's about all I know about it! ;-) I do recall my mom and dad were Cowboy fans and I think I did a Yipee! and a Yay! Having no idea why at the time!
Every new venture I enter into...I close my eyes and say..."Somebody is gonna catch me"! I guess that's what I'm doing here eh? (Not exactly a Hail Mary but close enough)! ;-)
So very poetic and so very true, Cindy. Close, close enough. The whole experience here...lol:))
Yes, it is Vera, but I still don't understand why they all have to fall down on the guy with the ball AFTER he is on the ground!!

Sometimes it's simply the case that the tackler is already in motion toward the player and he just can't stop himself. The game moves very rapidly and players can't always react instantaneously.
There is also the possibility that the offensive player will lose the ball as he's going down. If the ball pops free before the referee calls the player down, the defending team can recover the fumble and gain possession.
You b see the beauty in things. Rick describes a practical game and plays a practical note You two make a great them Vera!

Hi Vera. That must have really been something for University of Florida fans. I'm not a football fan myself, but I can appreciate the beauty of a last second victory!
Would you have any way of helping out a rookie? :)
Yes, absolutely fascinating!
I have already written you, Todd.Try to understand what you are passionate about... Start with the training. No one will tell you anything different.
If you get stuck at anything, there is a bar on top of the page saying:"Hey, Todd, search for help here."
Good luck!:)
Thanks again, Vera. I know the training will come tough for me, as I suspect it does for you. We've just got to work that much harder on it. Even your old Aunt will tell you that! :))
No need for further detail... I know you....Long ago it dawned on me...:))))
Yes.:))))
