Beware.It's the Flu

This post is a quick reminder to my friends and to myself that our health pretty much depends on our life style and on what we are doing to stay healthy and energetic.Good health habits, good immune system, common sense at the time of the epidemic can help us stay healthy when flu viruses become especially active.

The recipes are so simple that they are hardly worth talking about in detail.. They are good sleep, right food, physical activity, water intakes and water procedures, good mood and enough laughter. These are the things which are good at all times, but at the time when people are especially vulnerable, they appear really important.

Additionally, we can take vitamins and supplements, increase portions of fruit containing vitamin C

It's better to avoid visiting crowded places. It is much safer to stay home, unless it's necessary.(A clear advantage of an online job, by the way!)

If we are to communicate with people , we should by all means avoid touching the face, on returning home or arriving at work, the hands should be thoroughly washed. Do it like a surgeon does. This simple thing can be a game changer.

In the period of epidemic it is wise not to subject the body to unnecessary stress.Even trying to stick to strict diets to lose weight should be put off.

Wet cleaning and regular airing are good preventive measures, too.

There might be more things which I didn't mention.

I am a bit in a hurry to ask the friends to pray for Rick (Cosmicradio). He is very sick now with a bad form of the flu. He's a teacher and as we know school is the place where unfortunately infection is spread especially quickly.Unless the situation changes and parents stop sending sick children to school, nothing much can be done.

Please pray for Rick and wish him well. I do believe in the power of the joint prayer.I know Rick also does.

Beware of the danger of the flu. Some of the possible complications of the flu can be :

Bronchitis

Ear infection

Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle)
Myositis (muscle inflammation)
Pneumonia

In conclusion, remember the symptoms of the flu.

It is different from the common cold; its symptoms include high fever, sore throat, weakness, headaches, muscle and joint pains. There might be a cough. The symptom of running nose usually develops later.

Stay healthy.:)

Thank you for the reminder to take care of ourselves.
Sorry to read Rick is sick, my prayers go to him for his recovery.

Yes, we do need to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. I am sure Rick will appreciate your prayers, Alejandra, thank you.:)

Oh Vera, I am so sorry to hear about Rick... strong healing thoughts and best wishes to him and all others trying to fight this horrible 'bug'. I have been trying to nurse my partner after a triple bypass since just before Christmas, then was hit during the past 3 weeks with this ghastly flu bug, not fun at all :(

Thank you so much for your sensible advice and support. I have not had the most positive start to 2018... but, I hope to get back to my websites next week, then I'm determined that things will start to make sense again! I wish you a very positive, productive and fun 2018! Sue :)

Sorry about "bugs" having found you, Sue.No fun, of course. Rick complains about feeling crummy as well.He sure needs to be prayed for.
Thank you for your response, Sue.Wish you a lot of luck and productivity, and fun of course...:)

Thank for this Vera! Lot's of excellent information here!

Glad to have been helpful,Chris.:)

Good tips Vera thanks,

I'll be praying for Rick. Also, I know this is'nt the place to plug our posts and i wouldn't normally but, I wrote a piece recently on tips how to stay healthy in the winter. It pretty much expounds on what your saying. Thought it might be worth a gander....

Cheers, Brad

Thanks, Brad.
That's a very well- researched article.I am sure a lot of people will find it helpful.:)

Thank you so much for taking the time to care...by sharing....

Happy to have been helpful.:)

Thank you, Vera for these practical and important reminders. So glad you mentioned Rick. He hasn't been posting lately and I was thinking of him. He definitely will be in my prayers.

Stay healthy!
Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. I am sure Rick will appreciate it. He admitted having some bad kind of the flu.Stay healthy, Debbie!:)

Helpful points Vera...I'll add that as far as I understand, jand sanitizers kill bacteria but not viruses. I add Grapefruit Seed extract to a santizer so it will kill viruses as well. I also make my own from scratch with aloe vera gel because Triclosan (in hand sanitizers) is carcinogenic.
I keep some at work, and in my purse.
Best wishes for Rick and all of us!

Thanks much, Dianne. I also use more things than I covered in the article- these are just the basics. The rest are our more individual things. I for example wash my nose like yoga recommends. Not all people would do that.
I will convey your wishes to Rick, thank you.:)

Sorry to read about Rick, hope he gets well soon. Luckily the internet can not spread this virus (yet;)

Thanks, Loes. I also hope Rick will get better soon- he is a tough guy. The whole trick is to keep him in bed as long as it's necessary. He will be striving to get to work as soon as he recovers just a little.
Yeah, it's good that this virus is not spread over the internet, but too bad it's so rapidly spread at schools. Some schools are closed here because of the flu as well.

I know, I am in the fireline with my daycare:((
We go from sniffing and coughing to diarrhea to lice and back again

Looks like you are a tough lady, Loes. With a great sense of humor and positive attitude, too.:)

Owww, I forgot about the maggots...

I had to check for this in a dictionary... How very terrible...

Not too bad, solved with 2 pills ;)

You are a risky optimist...lol You open up from an unexpected angle for me....))

Hi, I'm just recovering from pneumonia which was brought on by the flu. I also have lung disease and autoimmune disease so it's not unusual for me to contract the flu or respiratory infections. I have had pneumonia many times and believe me, it isn't any fun!

This is a great post to remind people to take extra care during the flu epidemic and of course all year round.

Sending positive energy and prayers for Rick for a speedy recovery.

I am sorry about your sickness, Juliana. You certainly need to take extra precautions in cold seasons.Get better.
Thanks for praying for Rick- he will appreciate this.:)

Thank you for the reminder to take care of ourselves.

Prayers sent for Rick.

Lydia

Thank you!:)
