Hi my dear WA friends! Today I invite you to participate in a real lesson. Rhyming lesson...Or a poetry contest, to be more exact...

It all started with Rick (Cosmicradio- for the new members who might not know Rick yet....Correct this mistake, quickly...That's for your good...)

I was so impressed by his "Humpty-Dumpty ( I am impressed by all the rest he is writing too) but this very blog gave me an idea. I discussed it with Rick:

Oh , Rick I loved that! What great imagination !
Let's play a game. We can make it public, for those who want to join, or just do it together, you and I.
Let's take some object, or event, or whatever, and write some verse on it...It'd be interesting to see which associations and images the object will generate and how far from each other the final product will be... It'd be better to get some people involved, of course...So what? Dontcha think it might be interesting?(My poor brain..why do I learn all that?) lemme finish... hahaha...:)

OK-You could do it as a blog, Vera. Put a picture of something that will allow for speculation. I think people would really like it. Great, creative idea! :)

And so, having been approved, i am off to implementation.

At my lessons I always offer a choice to my students. I decided to do it today.

There are two pictures and two options for you. You can write your verse on the first picture, actually , the quote by Paolo Coelho, or you can write on the second picture, the picture of a starry sky and a road leading to your destination or leading just nowhere... Though, why am I giving you ideas? I am going to write, too.

You can choose one picture , or you can write on both...Sure, it will be fun.Write a verse and let it be short or long, funny or serious,thought- provoking or just making readers die of laughter...

Let's agree that we will accept entries during next week with the Sunday being a deadline.

Awards.

I would really ask our honorable Teddy Bear who is in charge of nuts, to make sure we have enough of them. All sorts and kinds...don't forget my favourite- almonds...))

Michael(MKearns) might give an extra lesson on abbreviations- I would take one should I become one of the winners...(My head is really bursting with so many of them...)

Rick might dedicate a new song to the winner (I'll surely try to do my best to become one of them... do love Rick's songs..)

Steve might dedicate a chapter of his "War and Peace" novel to the winner (here I am a little in doubt...afraid to get into history...I'd rather settle for a Bamboo Spark...)

I can give a lesson on hula-hooping (getting ready for a show with Steve - Steve again!)- I have become almost perfect at it...Or I can write in 4 languages how very clever you are... If Teddy Bear adds two more, we will get it in 6 languages...

Michael (Ultimateless) might demonstrate his magic powers and...(I don't know what... magicians have their own secrets...)

Jude and Lisa Franks might stage some cat show for the winner (Mikkie and I can join in , too)

And these are only some suggestions... There can be much more...

So well... Shall we try?

This Picture Is Not The Outcome Of The Wrong Cropping. It's Meant To Show That The Universe Is Much Bigger Than The Earth We Live At And Our Imagination Is Much Richer Than We think...It's Limitless...Like The Universe...

What a great mélange of ideas and mixed cast. You're rocking today Vera! I've bookmarked this post address and will find a moment. I have a few stanzas picked out.

Oh great! Looking forward to...))

The Universe

The Power of Life, unveiled
Reaches into nether regions
Our lives, much, too cropped and scaled
Are trouble in rows and legions

The vastness of space rings a bell
In the subconscious part of the mind
It casts such a mysterious spell
Reminding us, we're one of a kind

We stumble, fall, our sight is short
A thousand ideas out of our reach
Till we make the negative abort
What a jewel, one's child to teach!

Let this call ring out so true
Mystery treasure beyond our earth
An inspiration out of the blue
Waiting for our cosmic birth!

Wow! Why won't you do a separate blog on it?
people don't go to yesterday's topics too often...
Do please... It's beautiful...:)

Ok, Vera, I'll try.....
But I've also just "discovered" my website again, and how much it can bring, its a time matter again...☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Oh sure, time is an issue. ... But you just copy and paste... Everything's ready...when you have a couple of minutes...:)

Ok, but I've forgotten where you need it, can you refresh my memory?☺

Just make a separate blog, name it as you wish and that's all...
thanks..I like your verse, people will like it as well...))

Ok, Vera!

But I only know how to build Websites.......

"only know..." I wish I could say that...:)

Ok, I've set up a siterubix site on it, you can get onto it from my profile, there's a tidbit of a post on it already.

But when I tried to upload an image for the About me page, it said that there was an error, to try again later......
I'd been interrupted by a phone call, and tried to download again, because the call came in the middle of the first download.....

Never had that before, do you have any experience with it?

Thanks so much, Vera, and for the inspiration also!
Cheers,
Therese

You see however long I put it off, I just have to get down to it... I mean, the site and stuff...Can tell the whole story around it- you know me already a little..:))

I agree with Vera. Blog worthy in it's own right.

Sounds like a great idea.

Have some fun guys.

Paul.

Thanks,Paul
How about you?If you stop being afraid of yourself you might have a try. You look at the photo and write down the thoughts which the photo generates. It's not necessary even to have rhymes, you can write without them. The most important components are images and rhythm.
Just have a try.... Write something here...
Good Luck!
Vera

Wow. Good show, Vera. Very cool. I love the pictures, it makes me feel small.

Let's try... it'll be really interesting...A person with imagination can describe a chair, or a cup, whatever...:)

Over there
Over there
There's a bear
There's a bear in a chair cutting hair over there.

Over here
over here
There's a lady
There's a lady on a chair waiting for poems over here.
Nobody's writin'
Nobody's writin'.
The lady's thinkin'
everybody's boring cutting their hair over there.
or doing something else very prosaic over there...

Good job, Vera! One calls to me a little more than the other-Can You guess? I'm trying to get caught up right now, but, I'll get to it. Good luck with the contest! :)

the second one?(difficult, I like both...)

:))

Did I guess?:)

Yes. :)

OK... let's try...soo exciting... but I will do it tomorrow..or later... when I get struck...hahaha..:)

I'll have to work on it a little. I want to win the magic trick! :)

and I want to win your song... my motivation is stronger...:)

How is this to be judged, Vera? :)

don't know... honestly...no voting, though...:)

Maybe just do it for fun. That way, nobody's disappointed. I'll still write you a poem. :)

Fun, of course... element of contest is just for fun, too...Teddy Bear will give away his nuts (Nuts for nuts... hahaha...) Michael will show one more video with his tricks. You will give the lyrics of your next song from reverbnation.(The poem for me goes separately- you promised...)
It's not fair already. I started writing you and forgot the line which I just heard.lol.. :)

Relax-It'll come back...or something better! :)

It didn't...(
but it's ok..:)

That's why I get up in the middle of the night and write things down! Sorry, Vera. :)

I srarted carrying a piece of paper and a pencil with me...lol
But you were right- some different thing came, and practically as if somebody dictated it...Only had to fix the rhythm a little...

You won't run out of inspiration any time soon, and, by the way, thank you for inspiring "Dead Man's Curve" with the image you provided! :)

Oh, great...you got a saga out of that, very powerful:)... I liked the image very much too, with me it was..a kind of lyrical phylosophical mix... You'll see tomorrow...:)

OK-Looking forward to it! :)

And there is nothing in it that is not original......

yes, dear, yes... Waiting for your entry...:)

Go for it ! Terrific Idea !!!

Steve... You go for it, as well.. waiting for your entry...please...:)

I am not in the same league as you and Rick when it comes to lyrical ability. Just give me a hammer, wood, and nails and I can build something.............but it would not be considered poetry!

oh... you already are making my day....OK... Go for "War and Peace " and your fantastic devices...:)

You sound like me Steve...make something and I'm in!

Let the imagination wander and the creativity will flow.

Great Post. Thanks.

Thanks... Waiting for your entry...:)

Although the roads pose difficulty through its offering of curves, imposing hills and overwhelming downgrades that seem never ending.
One treks on with the energy of hope and faith knowing the stars are always within reach.
For this, the dream will last forever.

So very quick... thanks...:)

My pleasure.
