Time Fly’s When We’re Having Fun – So It Is Said! Day 22 of 23

Today is the second to last of the 23-day challenge I set myself and I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by.

This experience has been of greater benefit than I could have imagined. Even though I’m still not strictly focused on time management, I have benefited from the dedication required to complete daily tasks.

A Matter of Changing Habits

In discussion with a business coach, prior to my WA days, I learned that it takes a certain number of days to break a habit. I’m not sure if he stated 20, 21 or 30 days, but I’ve remembered the conversation. I don’t know that I had any particular bad habit to break at that time.

However, over the past year or two, even though I have been a member of WA, I developed a very bad habit which I found hard to stop. That habit was an utter time waster, and I knew it.

This was one of the things I had read at WA, and other places, about wasting time. I’m sure I don’t need to state here what this was. However, it was a few TV programs that I had more or less got addicted to. Ridiculous, I know! However, I feel it came about through the lack of managing time. Each day, time appeared to go so fast I more or less gave up.

Taking Command of Situations

I don’t tell my stories for the sake of telling about myself. I share them in the hope they help other people.

If you are experiencing a feeling of overload, I recommend setting yourself a goal that will extend you far beyond what you can imagine.

Although tomorrow’s post will complete my challenge, I will still publish a post at least once per week. Well, that’s the plan!

An inspiring piece! Thanks for sharing Valerie🤗

Hi Jane, thanks for leaving your comment.
Much appreciated :)

My pleasure Valerie 🙂

Another great read Valerie with a good message. The old adage of treating every day like its your last, although to some it might have morbid connotations, I just take the meaning. We take time for granted and could achieve so much more if we used it better. Looking forward to tomorrow without wishing today away.

Thanks, Twack for your message. Always appreciated.
I won't stop and 'talk' due to the last day of my challenge has been here for several hours and I haven't started to write yet!

Thanks for the share, Valerie. I enjoyed it. It is a good reminder.

Some have suggested that by just keeping an activity log helps - it will help identify where all the time has gone.

I guess a clear vision or a goal of where we want/do/achieve will be a first step - next is doing it - creating a schedule and doing one thing at a time. (timeboxing techniques /Pomodoro techniques)

Cheers!

Many thanks, Bosco for your message.

I agree that clear vision is important as without that it can be so easy to stray from the actual intention.

I haven't heard of Pomodoro techniques. Something to search for in Google during this coming weekend. Thank you:)

Cheers.

Good Morning Valerie,

Hats off to you, you managed your challenge and presented us with nice and interesting posts every day.
We are off doing some stone and fossil hunting in Cabo de Gata today.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Good Evening, Taetske

Thanks very much for your message. I greatly appreciate your kind words.

Have a wonderful time today, with your hunting.

Valerie

Valerie,

I'm going to miss my daily update. It's been great over the last few weeks. Another motivational and thought provoking post.

Look forward to tomorrow's and then the weekly column.

Have a great day.

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks very much for your kind message. It is greatly appreciated.

I'll be back tomorrow. Hopefully, I can make it a good one!

Cheers :)

Valerie

Well done, Valerie, sometimes those challenges can really stoke the fire.

Like they say we don't know what we can do until until we try.

Best wishes.

Alex

Very true, Alex.

Thanks so much for your support.

Greatly appreciated.

Valerie

You've done well with your challenge...and so you'll know, they say it takes 21 days to change a habit.

I'm guessing you will see some positive changes from your challenge.

Yes, Fran. The positive changes are amazing. I would not have believed how much benefit I could gain. One great benefit is that I'm not getting tired as I was.

The big thing for me now is to keep focus.

Thanks so much for your support :)

Yes, I must admit I need to manage time better. For one I need to get moving quicker in the morning.

Getting going in the morning was one of my problems and I'm amazed how much I've changed just through setting that goal and my determination to succeed.

Thank you, Mick :)

Time fleets so fast and there are many things to do meeting the deadline as the other things cram up. Stressful!

Absolutely, Jimmy.
And, too much stress is not good, but I haven't found a way of out that, yet!

The more we think, the more we do things the more stress we have.

A small amount of stress is actually a good thing. It's when we get overstressed that we can suffer.

Physical stress is lighter to bear than mental stress.

Very true, Jimmy. Mental stress is not good.
