The Marvels of Wealthy Affiliate
From the time I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I have recognized the incredible programme it is. Assistance from all directions is amazing and never ceases to grow in greatness.
Admittedly, I don't always use SiteContent for my writing but today I chose to do that. Wow, when I logged into WA, heading for Site Content, I was greeted with a new version of WA's platform allowing me to reach SiteContent in the flick of an eye!
So, with that said, my intention of writing this post is to say how incredible the WA programme is. Now, I am well aware nobody needs to hear that from me; one who hides away behind the scenes, consistently reading and seldom contributing.
BUT, as well as our fantastic leaders, Kyle and Carson and of course Jay, so many members contribute wonderfully by sharing their knowledge and experiences. This is not only helpful for new members, it is helpful for members across all levels. I speak for myself, of course. But, I feel that some longer-term members gain similarly to me.
When Good Fortune Comes Our Way
I recognize that not only am I suffering from writer's block but I am stuck severely in that condition! This is not good enough particularly subscribing to Premium Plus. I expect more of myself!
To get the point, due to a year of little writing activity, my reading is focused mainly on content creation. This is due to the fact that I am not giving up on something I really do enjoy! As I'm sure you know, there are some gifted writers here who are so helpful to all who follow them.
Last night, I read a post published by 'TheCatherine'. And what a wonderful post it is giving us a tool to increase our creativity.
I have never been successful in meditation, but after reading Catherine's post my thoughts were 'to give it a go'. And, that is exactly what I did this morning.
Now, I cannot say that I achieved the entire practice but I certainly gained from 20 minutes of peaceful and incredible start to my day. And I will persist with the daily meditation practice Catherine has provided for us.
Putting Old Habits to Rest!
It is now Sunday afternoon and I have not, for even one minute today, turned on the television! That is a fantastic achievement for me!
When I upgraded to Premium Plus I had an issue with Jaaxy causing me to be in touch with Kyle. When it got sorted, I remember saying 'no more TV for me'. Kyle sure was happy about that!! Since then when I dare to turn on the TV during the day I have had a strong guilt feeling! That's my punishment to myself!!
So, as I have said, there are many fantastic writers here. So many, that I won't name them now! But I'm very grateful for the help these people give to all Wealthy Affiliate members.

It's good to hear from you, I hope you're doing well.
It's interesting that you don't always use site content, I must admit that I rarely use it now. One of the reasons is that some of my websites are on a dedicated server. I also find it easier to type directly into WordPress. I appreciate that with site content there are some advantages, especially for new members.
Regarding the television, the most important button is the "off" button! I didn't have a television for years, however, my wife comes from Greece and she thought it would help her with her English. Having said that, her English is actually very good.
Now is definitely a good time to turn off the television, I don't listen to the mainstream media as I want to hear the truth. It's also so easy just to waste time in front of the television when we could be doing something much more rewarding and satisfying. It's so important that we fill our minds with wholesome and good things! We actually find more often than not that we are watching YouTube on the television or the Christian channel.

It's so nice to hear from you and good to know that you are not a Television fan. I really can't understand my passion for watching the TV and losing so much valuable time. The time that can never be regained! It's just turned 6.00pm and is quiet and peaceful. Usually, at this time, the News is being reported and seldom pleasant.
I could watch YouTube on the television but I had not stopped to think about doing that. Thanks for giving me that idea! The Christian channel is one I do watch at times. One programme I particularly enjoy is presented on Sunday evenings about 10.00pm so that isn't ideal!
I have been subscribing to Grammarly premium for the past year and question myself on that because I'm not creating content as frequently as I should. When using SiteContent yesterday I found that Grammarly appeared to be included. I'm not sure whether that was my subscription following me in SiteContent or whether it is now a feature of SiteContent. I might look further into that as my Grammarly membership is due for renewal tomorrow! I had better get into action.

That's another good reason for turning the television off, every news channel is telling different untruths! I have just been on a national news website and they show the front covers of the daily papers. Two very similar papers show the same story but totally contradicting headlines, it's not worth reading either!
I do try and find alternative news channels and look at accurate social media stories if that's possible! When I hear stories in the news, I often see if they line up with biblical prophecy, which is far more accurate than the average news channel!!
When I'm working on my off-line business, I will often listen to Internet marketing videos, Christian messages and anything that's wholesome. I do this through my smartphone and a set of earphones. You could actually do this on your television, Valerie, just a thought!
It's interesting what you are saying about Grammarly, my guess is that it is not included in Site Content. I would think that Grammarly is just displaying itself on Site Content. For example, Grammarly is functioning on the page that I am typing into.
A few years ago I had the paid version of Grammarly as it was available on special offer. I didn't really read the instructions properly, so I didn't really get value for money! I then went back to the free version, however, about a year ago, I then went back to the paid version and read the instructions!
I believe that Grammarly is a useful tool if we are writing regularly, although I don't agree with everything Grammarly tells me. So I believe we have to take care when we are writing.

Thanks very much for this message. I'm pleased I saw it before I logged off for the night.
There is so much conflict across the world these days. Most nights before going to bed I turn on my transistor radio. I am not sure that many people use transistors these days. I might be the one and only! I just like to have some sound in the house for company. Anyway, I question myself as to why I need to listen to so much negative conversation. Occasionally kind words are spoken, but they are in the minority.
Thanks for telling me what you listen to on your smartphone. I should be able to do the same on my smartphone. I probably wouldn't need the earphones, although I remember them being in the box with the phone when it was new. No doubt, I could listen to similar messages on my TV but that would mean being in my lounge rather than wherever else in the house I prefer at a particular time. Anyway, I will give it a try.
It's good to know you use Grammarly, Roy. I don't always agree with them, but I have more confidence in my writing using Grammarly.

It's a pleasure Valerie, it's good to share ideas and chat et cetera, one of the many great things about Wealthy Affiliate!
It's amazing how much conflict there is in the world, I'm glad that we know the truth that sets us free! One of the great things today is that we have the Internet which enables us to choose what we want to look at. I remember when I was a child, my father listening and watching the news, it seemed so dreary and there was so much that I really wasn't interested in.
I will often look at the news channels on my PC, however, I'm very selective about what I read and I limit my time on these websites.
It's amazing that you still have transistor radio, I didn't even know if they would still work as technology has changed so many things!
We have a very small portable speaker which is rechargeable, it lasts for about 20 hours or probably more, between charges. We actually Bluetooth our phones to the portable speaker which enables us to listen anywhere in the house. Although it's very small and I believe it cost around £18 from Amazon, the sound really is very good. It may be an option for you Valerie.
I tend to listen through headphones when I am at work as I'm often using machinery. So I have my earphones in and then a pair of ear defenders over the top! It seems to work! I am very particular about what I listen to, as I mentioned the other day, I listen to a lot of Christian messages, Internet marketing and associated videos. It's great that I can be working my off-line business and listening to wholesome things!
I'm like you Valerie, I don't always agree with Grammarly, however, it does pick out those mistakes that are sometimes easy to miss. I also use Dragon NaturallySpeaking, which is speech software. It's much better than it was years ago, although it's not 100% accurate, so I have to take care when I write something. Grammarly definitely helps with this situation.
I was speaking to a friend the other day and he was saying that in Microsoft Word, it will often underline the word "and" and ask for a comma after the word "and"! I'm not the best person at grammar, but my friend is more educated as he writes a lot of work for the English courts. He said exactly the same thing about the word "and" and the comma after the word "and". We were both taught not to put a comma after the word "and" and yet both Grammarly and Microsoft Word are telling us that it is correct! Maybe some things have changed!

In as much as I love your post I find it difficult to accept not watching TV because listening to news updates is favorite TV program I love. I believe I can learn more from you and others in given up bad old habits which invariably will enhance successful journey in WA.
Hi Idowu, I absolutely understand your feeling about TV news updates. My problem was that I wasting a huge amount of time watching programmes such as The Chase, Tipping Point and anything else that took my fancy! This caused me a huge loss of valuable time. So, for three days I did not turn my TV on at all. Today, I turned it on for the Mid-day News and when I watched all I needed, I turned the TV off. It was a case of 'bringing myself to my senses'. So, that will be my use of TV from now on! And, of course, the meditation Catherine teaches has helped me significantly.
