So When Was That Post Published?

I thought this worth a mention.

On reading through items today on the Activity Dashboard I saw a post from a member telling of his success with Amazon.

I congratulate as members as I can, and in particular Amazon Affiliates because I know the joy of receiving Amazon commissions, however small they may be.

On reading this post I noticed the lack of responses to other members' comments, until I reached the bottom of the list where two comments had been answered.

Before leaving my congratulations I looked at the date of the most recent comments. Those dates were:

I then looked at the date this post was published. Would you believe it was published on:

  • 16 November 2015

Of course, I did not leave a comment on this post.

However, a few nights ago prior to logging off, I commented on a post a member had written about his pleasure with Amazon.

How silly I felt when I saw the date his post was published. It was about 12 months ago. I didn't record that date of that post, but it was long ago.

So, from now unless I am responding to emails, I will check the date a post is published.

It only takes second to read the published date, but it takes longer to read the post and leave a comment.

Enjoy your wonderful life. It is precious!

I always check the date of membership when welcoming new follows. You don't want to be inattentive and welcome someone who's been here awhile!

Likewise Michael. I always check the date of membership, as you do. I published a post about some months back.

What I am referring to in my post today, is wasting time on published content from a member long ago.

Hi Valerie,

I often wondered about that also.

I figured that they come up if someone comes across it, and leaves a comment, then it surfaces? It's the only solution I can think of.

I'm sure you are correct with that Patsy. I just see it as a time waster, and time is so precious.

Thanks so much for your comment :)

You are welcome :)

I agree, it takes up space where something more current could be instead. Especially in the top 10.

Exactly Patsy :)
