Recognizing the Solstice - A Moment in Time
Wherever in the world you are living, in the past week your country will have experienced a Solstice.
In the Southern Hemisphere it was a Winter Solstice and of course, a Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
In New Zealand, according to published statistics the event was at 4.24pm on 21st June. This means that 21st of June was the shortest day of this year. And just one short moment in time signified this happening.
Depending on whether or not you follow the events of the solar system, a Solstice may not mean a great deal to you. Solstice is a very quiet event. To my knowledge, it is not celebrated with a fireworks display, or anything of the kind.
However, I have read that some cultures do celebrate Solstice.
The only way I have ever celebrated Solstice is being grateful that the shortest day has passed and daylight will start to lengthen, although gradually!
If you have read this far you maybe wondering what this has to do with WA or blogging, in general. The title of this post is what I’m getting at:
A moment in time! Recognizing those moments!
I’m sure you would have heard a family member, or a friend say:
- If only I had taken that opportunity!
- If only I had listened to ……..!
- If only I had checked it out further!
Of course we wouldn’t want to take up every opportunity that presents itself. But there is nothing wrong with exploring opportunities as they arise.
I am not talking about another way to learn affiliate marketing. Absolutely not! As far as I am concerned, Wealthy Affiliate is the one and only affiliate marketing training program for me.
But as we follow WA training and gain experience that will help grow our business, we need to keep our eyes and ears open for those opportunities of extending our income through legitimate affiliate programs.
Also, opportunities to produce our own product of which we can become the vendor, and have affiliates promoting our program.
Whenever I read an article or post providing interesting content that could help me to move forward, I copy the URL to a spreadsheet.
For those who are new to internet marketing I recommend you do likewise. There is so much helpful and interesting content online I find it impossible to remember everything.
We read stories about people who are greatly successful with internet and/or affiliate marketing. Some of those stories may not be true, but many are true.
Successful affiliate marketers achieve by:
- Examining opportunities
- Being alert to the environment they have chosen
- Being well organized
- Believing they can and will achieve
- Not allowing anything to stand in their way
To my way of thinking, being successful comes from constantly moving forward.
Sometimes life does get in the way. That happens to us all at times. But, remembering that at Wealthy Affiliate we have great training, plus wonderful support from a caring community. What more could anyone who is developing an online business want!
Wishing you a great weekend.

And thanks for the weekend wishes too!
What a great post - thanks.
Fantastic picture.
Did you see New Zealand v. The Lions yesterday?
Thank you David for your comment. I appreciate it.
No, I didn't see New Zealand v. The Lions yesterday, so in response to your question I just Googled that game. Hmmm... seems there is some not-so-good dialogue between the two coaches! Which side are you on David? Your profile doesn't indicate what part of the world you live in!
I have never been a great fan of rugby but when I had my secretarial business, for about 4 years I was the minute secretary for The Rugby Foundation. I met some very fine gentlemen who had all been rugby players in their time. It changed my opinion of the game of rugby. My family are very big on Football!
Valerie
Actually I am English so am supporting the Lions. Unfortunately we came 2nd on Saturday and deservedly so - let's see what happens next Saturday.
David
Thank you for your message David.
As much as I support my own country, I would really like to see the Lions win next Saturday. If any New Zealander's read this it may not go down well for me, but it appears the majority of New Zealanders live and breath rugby, with little thought for other sport. Enough said from me!
Hello Valerie,
Beautiful picture, and very well written information!
I have researched a multiple internet opportunities/programs over the years, and though there are some that offer lots of info/training, WA is the first one I have found that provides such extensive training, a community/founder/co-founders that personally offer help and support. And also WA doesn't charge their members a ridiculous amount for all this training!
I am still going through the training, hopefully I will have to websites up and running soon!
Your suggestion for keeping a spreadsheet to keep track of other helpful information is a great idea!
Thank you for sharing all this information!
Wishing you Great success!
Carol
My pleasure Carol. And thanks so much for your kind comment.
I am very pleased to know that you are enjoying WA's training. It sounds as though you are doing very well with developing two websites.
Yes, the spreadsheet works well for me. I've certainly gathered a lot of URLs and it includes some favorites such as Coshedule headlines tool and I can quickly bring it up when I need it.
Wishing you all the best with your websites :)

Hi Valerie, I love those tips you have given about online marketing. Sometimes discouragements are inevitable but as you say, in order to succeed, one should not allow anything to get on the way.
