One of Those Wonderful Days
No it’s not my birthday, but a day with a difference.
This morning when I logged into my computer I received two wonderful messages from new, or nearly WA members.
These messages were expressions of thanks for inspiration they received from my profile, and tutorials. And then I received a very nice message of thanks for one of my trainings.
Of course, I receive many wonderful messages of thanks from members, which I greatly appreciate. But so close together, the three messages this morning were heart warming. I’m not one to look for praise but it is nice to be acknowledged occasionally.
Mid-morning I drove to somewhere new-to-me to meet with a wonderful group of women. Most of these ladies were people I knew, but I had not been to that venue before and it was such a lovely warm and welcoming experience.
So I had a fantastic morning but what was special was:
This was the first day in very many months since I had been out socially. Because of not having the best of health, other than seeing family, I stayed alone through the autumn and winter months. I could not risk catching winter ills.
What this morning was about was taking a break from the computer. I love all the wonderful people on the other side of my computer. In fact these people are my daily inspirations. But a change of scenery does everyone good at times.
Talking about a change of scenery, two days ago I went walking with my daughter on the beach frontage where I live. I tried to take photos but it was impossible to see the screen on my phone because of the sunshine. But my daughter captured a few shots of the scenery.
The photo doesn't do justice to the beauty of the area. There were beautiful seagulls sitting on a low fence watching people walking by. They were friendly, but they're not in the photo. Better luck with photography next time!
This is taken in the North Island of New Zealand. The island is Kapiti Island and it is protected because of bird life.
So my message is: A few words of kindness can go a long way.
Thanks to all the wonderful WA members who add so much to my life.
Have a wonderful day.

Kindness is indeed a wonderful quality. The older I am, the more I appreciate it.
Thank you for sharing and spreading your joy around.
Kindly
Anne
Thank so much Trevor. That's a lovely message. And I do have a kitty, a little black and white one. She gives me lots of love, but also keeps me in order!
You deserve those kind words Valerie! I am glad to know you here. I understand staying away to avoid the bugs (germs). I seem to get everything that comes along and I get most all of it from my co-workers...they get it from their small kids in school and daycare! I get pinkeye, colds, flus and everything due to this chain of illness! I have immunity problems as well.
I am so glad you got out and had a great day!

Thanks so much Jessica for your lovely message. Yes, you and I have much in common when it comes to our health, our love of animals, and of WA and the community.
You take care, and we'll talk again soon :)
Valerie
Thank you Jimmy for your kind message. I am very fortunate with the wonderful friends I have made in a short space of time. I have lived in Kapiti less than two years, but it feels much longer than that.
Enjoy the weekend that will soon be with us :)
Kind words, cost nothing but the difference they make is immeasurable.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
You live in a wonderful part of the country Valerie, thank you for sharing your thoughts very uplifting. One of the great things about WA we can all help each other.
Thanks very much Alex. I appreciate your comment. Yes, Kapiti is a wonderful place to live. Such a contrast to Auckland where I lived all my live until almost two years ago. There is so much natural beauty here. And, people I've met have become like 'old friends' within such a short space of time.

Good afternoon Valerie,
It is so important to take a break on a regular basis. First of all, it is good to move a bit, sitting too many hours behind the computer is not good for your health. To go outside and socialize or have contact with nature is all important for our well being and balance.
Have a great week, Taetske
Good morning Taetske
What you say about sitting at a computer for hours is so correct. I do try to move away and go outside, but sometimes the air is too cold for me to breath, as I have a breathing condition. But, summer is almost here and I will certainly take your advice.
Enjoy your weekend.
