Microsoft – Suddenly a New Programme!

I’m wondering if others are having a similar experience as I’m having with Microsoft.

Ever since I've had a computer, Microsoft has been installed. And since I've had laptop, Microsoft has been, and still is installed.

So, I’m wondering what’s the big deal with Microsoft?

Suddenly, out of nowhere, I’m told I need to upgrade my Microsoft account.

But, it’s the normal function of Microsoft Windows 10 to upgrade the system. This happens repeatedly.

So, I am Confused!

Why is Microsoft suddenly encouraging me, via their new website, to earn points?

They tell me I have earned 25 points, and I need to earn 475 to reach Level 2.

I feel like a cat chasing its tail. I couldn't find a cat chasing it's tail, so I settled for a broken tail. Whatever the tail, that coneys my feelings about this Microsoft issue.

The truth is that I don’t need points. All I need is time to work on my website. After too many months, today I’ve published a new post to my affiliate site. I’m not proud of a huge gap in posting content, but that’s what happened.

Life was looking brighter earlier today and suddenly I’m faced with Microsoft and their website, with a supposedly grand programme.

My affiliate site is one of two sites that need ongoing attention. My nine-year-old niche site is the other, and it requires a great deal of attention not only content, but redesign as well.

No doubt, if it weren’t for the fact that my laptop is Microsoft dependent, I wouldn’t be concerned about the pressure I’m currently receiving from Microsoft.

If any member is experiencing this issue, I’d be grateful to hear from you.

Thank you,

Valerie-Joy, - Couldn't you find a "dog" chasing its tail?

Or did you feel more like a cat? My cat won't chase it's
tail. - She's too smart.

But, yes, I think they are on a crusade to push the
Microsoft Edge.
I was under the impression you had to sign up for
it, though.

Hi John, Oh dear ---- I didn't think about a dog chasing its tail. Neither of my cats are on this planet now but I remember one of them chasing her tail, at some time!

So it's Microsoft Edge that's the problem. I've never signed up for Microsoft Edge but I did have to open a Microsoft account in 2017 to access Skype.

Thanks very much for your comment, I'm now alerted to what the problem may be.

ValerieJoy, - When I opened my computer this morning there was
a message from Microsoft to sign on to it.
I ignored it. - Something is amiss.

My cat, princess, is 10 years old - she doesn't chase much of
anything, anymore.

Bye for now,

John

I do receive once a while the same message asking me to upgrade to window 10 , When I try to upgrade it tells me you are already did?!!!!

Well, that's a strange one. It just shows that Microsoft is not fully in command of their operations!

Many thanks, Omark, you've brightened my day :)

So far I haven't received a message from Microsoft but I was reminded to upgrade my Windows 7.

Thanks Jimmy for your response to my post. I appreciate your comment

You are welcome, Valerie.

I have just been on the MS Windows site and there is nothing there about paying for an upgrade. The last upgrade was May 2019 and that was and is still free.

Have you got a Microsoft account for some other product such as office Valerie.

Just a thought.

Derek

Hi Derek, Thanks very much for your response.

I opened a Microsoft account in 2017 specifically to access Skype. Although I was able to use Skype once through that Microsoft account, it wouldn't function a second time. I've never used that account for any other product or service.

In that case, I think it would be safe to assume it is something to do with that account.

Derek

Hi Valerie, I am a Microsoft man and received a notification like that a while back regarding my hotmail account. I reported it as a phishing scam! and it turned out it was.

I don't think Microsoft would do that without making it heavy public info...

I would flag it and keep writing your very amazing content:)

Wish you many Blessing
Rob

PS: often in Pram:)

Hi Rob, thanks so much for your response. Your message is very helpful and I will take your advice to 'flag it'. Hopefully, that will be the end of this issue.

Wishing you many Blessings, in return.
Valerie

PS. That's a nice surprise. Pram has good coffee :)

Hello great post I did see someone having similar issues from here..the new upgrade of Microsoft 10.

I have no idea 💡 but planning on buying a computer soon hope there will be no issues.

Good to read one of your amazing posts.

Thanks for your comment, Cindy.

I'm sure your upgrade to Microsoft 10 will be fine.

I don't know what's going on with this programme of Microsoft's. Hopefully, I find out sometime soon.

I'm pleased you enjoyed my post.

All the best :)

That is all I use.

Thank you, Tom.

I take it that you're not having this problem.

I do not have a problem.

Hi Valerie, time for another challenge, I miss your daily posts. Anyway, I have had nothing remotely similar from Microsoft. I have Outlook but I am using Windows 7, my bad.
I will keep a lookout.

Hi Twack, thanks so much for your response. I see your posts with good intention to respond. Oh, I got so far behind but I'm concentrating on catching up and being more in touch again.

Well, I have Windows 10 and have had that for at least two years. So what this sudden thing from Microsoft is, mystifies me!

Good Morning Valerie,

Sorry, I cannot help you with this issue.
I must say I like you pirate battle cat, do not give up.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Good evening Taetske,

I'm so pleased you like my cat.

If it was any programme other than Microsoft I wouldn't be concerned. My laptop functions on Microsoft so it is a concern.

No worries that you cannot help. Hopefully, I'll find a solution.

Enjoy your day _Valerie

Hi Valerie. I am now just as confused by reading your post. I also have 2 laptops, both Microsoft based. I have not seen any email from MS even though my PC’s are pretty much never switched off.
I would love to hear how this progresses (is that even the right word? 😆).
Hope you are keeping well.
Terry

Hi Terry, thanks very much for your response. I do appreciate hearing from you.

The fact that you've not received anything from MS makes me wonder what's going on. It's almost like a scam but the website is very well designed and has the Microsoft logo.

Clearly, the idea is for me to purchase items. I'm just not interested.

If I get to find an answer to this, Terry, I'll let you know.

Valerie

I think the scam possibility is well worth checking out - perhaps forward the message to microsoft security:

msa@communication.microsoft.com

I have received this update notification but no request for payment

I look forward to hearing that all is ok

Terry

Hi Terry,

Thanks very much for this message. I apologize for taking so long to respond.

Another day has passed without making much progress. I will have another look tomorrow at what Microsoft has been sending me.

I think the trouble is due to having opened an account with Microsoft in 2017 to gain access to Skype.

Hopefully, I will get this sorted, soon.

Valerie

I'm sure it will all become clear sooner rather than later :-)
