It Is Said That Perseverance Brings Results
Perseverance has always been a strong point of mine, but it seems it’s time for me reconsider the meaning. Perhaps it could be something such as – “Persevere at your own risk.”
Where my afternoon went today, I do not know. One thing I do know is that the time flew by as I endeavored to achieve what should have been a simple task. Or, what I expected to be something easy to achieve.
Since Amazon first promoted their One Link procedure, my Amazon US account has been linked to Amazon UK. This worked well in respect to earning UK commissions. But, over the past 5 months or so, I have not earned UK commissions.
I was not greatly concerned about this. I considered it a glitch of some kind that would right itself.
On visiting Amazon US Associates today I read indication that my One Tag was not functioning. I was curious as to what One Tag is in comparison to One Link.
I soon discovered that my One Link between UK and US accounts was no longer functioning. With little effort I was able to correct that issue.
Why Not Have a CA account via One Link?
That sounded a good idea to open an Amazon CA account and link the three accounts on One Link.
So, what I expected to be a short procedure was a nightmare.
Amazon CA requires particular answers which I willingly provided and all went well until it came time to verify my account.
Verifying an account has never been a problem previously. In this case it was hopeless.
Rather than the normal procedure of a code being sent to my mobile phone followed by my response, as required, they now have another procedure. This procedure is one that has to be used. No options are available.
The process was to click a ‘Call Now’ button. When my mobile rang, I had to use my touch screen to enter 4 digits.
When I’ve answered a call how do I then access the keyboard screen and enter those 4 digits.
I tried this 3 times and gave up, in disgust.
Why, oh why can’t Amazon CA provide a better service than that?
I lost so much time persevering to achieve verification of an Amazon CA account, which did not happen.
I will stay with Amazon US and UK accounts linked, and be satisfied and grateful.

Can you get text? They should text the numbers to you and then it is easy to retrieve them and put them in the proper place.
I agree with you, Fran. Texting would be a better process. But, their system requires the digits to be entered into the touch screen of my phone. This is Amazon, Canada. I didn't have this problem with Amazon United Kingdom, but that was about a year ago.
Hi Val, when I set up ‘one link’, I got the call and then typed the number from my phone into Amazon. Hope this helps you.
Hi Liz, I think the system has changed. When I set up One Link for UK, approximately a year ago, the procedure was as you describe. But, they must have changed their system because I had to enter the number into the phone on a live call. I found it impossible.
