Including a Link on My Website to a WA Blog Post - What is the Result

Hi Folks,

In spite of the fact I should know the answer to my question, I'm not sure that I do.

So, can you please tell me what the result will be if I include in my website, a link to a WA member's blog post.

I've heard and read Kyle's training on including WA information on our website pages.

However, about two years ago, I pasted a link from a WA post into my website. When clicked on, this link opened to an invitation to join WA.

That's not what I'm looking for.

I welcome your advice.

Thank you.

Well your question is well and truly answered Valerie and I enjoyed reading all the responses.

Thanks Mark.

Yes, I've received some really good answers, and I'm pleased you've enjoyed reading them too.

Hi Valerie,
You have to be at least a Starter Member to access anything on the WA site. So, if you include a link to a blog they will be asked to create an account.

Thanks very much Linda.

I thought that may be the case.

Hi Linda

With some of the trainings, that is the case, where they can't view it if they are not starter members. But not with blog posts.

I know that for sure, since I shared my affiliate link of some blog posts (from other people) with my sister and she was able to read them, upon which she then joined and she was my referral. :-)

Refer to my answer to ElaineSmith1 below.

Hope this helps!

Hi Valerie

When you create a training, it asks about the accessibility (only by premium members, by starter members as well etc), and depending on which of these the creator of the training chose, it may or may not be available for non-members or even for starter members. But everybody can read the blog posts. I have personally read MANY blog posts and trainings before I eventually joined WA. ;-)

Hope this helps!

Hi Sharlee, that makes sense because all WA blogs are online for anyone to read. Most WA blogs are indexed by Google. So as they are there for the world see, why would that not be so with including a link on our website.

Thanks so much :)

Exactly Valerie, you nailed it! ;-)
Glad I could help!

Valerie,

you can link to any post, training, etc.. on WA and use the "Affiliate Link" and someone clicks on it then joins WA then they are your referral.

Your personal blogs, training, bio etc.. from WA can be posted simply with the actual URL and still counts as your referral to WA when a person joins.

If you just use the URL to a blog, bio, training etc from WA that isn't yours and a person clicks on it then joins then the referral will go to the person's post, training, bio etc... that you shared.

Does the above answer your question Valerie?

Tony

Thank you Tony.

Yes, you have answered my question.

Much appreciated.

Valerie

You are very welcome Valerie,

thank you for letting me know that the answer that I shared helped my Friend.

Tony

Tony is spot on.
The only thing you cannot do is link from a blog on WA to your website. That is against the rules because it would lead to SPAMing.

You're very welcome, Tony.

Valerie

I don't think you can link to another members post if that is what you are asking. You can link to your own blog post on your website.
I could be mistaken about that so you might want to check with others also.

Tried and true

Elaine

Thanks for your response, Elaine.

Hi Elaine
You can link to other's blog posts, just make sure that you use your affiliate link to do so! (Don't link straight to the URL!) See below. ;-)
Hope it helps!

Hi Valerie I am working on the link right now, Kyle said we can use any training affiliates link, is that right?

Hi Kazuko and thanks for your message.
Yes, we can use any training affiliate links on our site, but what does the visitor who clicks on the link see?
I think they see an invitation to join WA. But, I'm not sure.

If you view your site from an incognito or private window in your browser, won't you see what a visitor sees?

Thanks so much for that, Joe.
I hadn't thought of tying it with incognito.
A great idea :)

I have a link from one of my website posts to my WA Profile page--It seems to work OK.

Thanks Joe.
It's not what I'm looking for but that's fine. You responded to my question and I appreciate that :)
