Google Plus Followers

Hi folks - Social Media is something I struggle with, particularly Google Plus.

I watched Jays training a few weeks ago where he posted his latest article on Google Plus. It looked to be so easy, and I have done similar with my posts since that training. In spite of that there is no movement at all in my Followers.

I did leave comments on the posts of others for a while, but that didn't lead to anything.

I am following 223 people and I have 93 followers. I've had 93 followers for longer than I can remember.

I have read training about Google Plus but I still do not get any results.

I just wondered how other members grow their number of G+ Followers, and whether there is benefit in spending time with this particular social media program?

Thank you.

Enjoy your wonderful life. It is precious!

thank you for this post I had no idea about posting on google.I thought it was for here only

Hi Lawrence - Thanks for leaving your comment. In addition to posting on WA you can post on Social Media. You would need to set up an account with each Social Media platform such as FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest......and more.

The best thing for you now is to concentrate on the WA training. Eventually you will learn about Social Media. You will need to have your website up and content on it before getting involved with Social Media.

Wishing you all the best with your continued training. And remember to ask questions in the community if and when you need to.

Have a great weekend :)

thank you

Val, I've been on G+ since joining WA. I didn't even know of its existence prior to then. And shortly after that, I posted a naked link in error, for which I still receive the warning window to this day (nearly a year later) every time I access it or change screen. Which in itself is the most annoying thing ever!
I'm still using it to post my posts, but I don't monitor its results anymore and hardly interact due to lack of time, but primarily due to that glitch, for which I have also tried to contact customer services, but to no avail. So, mixed feelings for me, I'm afraid.

Giulia

So sorry to hear of your experience Giulia with G+. That would be so frustrating for you continually receiving that warning.

This probably sounds a bit silly, but when I go onto G+ I don't get any feeling of warmth or welcoming. It has a dismal feeling about it. For instance, I have a FaceBook page for one of my websites. I haven't done much with this page, as in I haven't published it. But when I go into this page there is always a message from FB advising me of the next step to take, and how to get visitors, and many other things. Also Twitter is amazing, although I seldom use it. Pinterest site isn't all that active but the members are. I can actually see some results from pinning images.

So, I don't think G+ is for me. Maybe a little later on, but time is best spent elsewhere, I think!

Thanks very much for your comment Giulia. What you have said is very helpful, and I appreciate it.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Google+ for me grows much slower than other Social Media. I have appx 280 followers, but in Twitter, Linkedin, and Pinterest I have over 2,000 each.
Ed

That's very interesting and helpful information Ed. Thank very much for sharing it :)

You are welcome Valerie!
Ed

Oh goodness. I have so much to learn!

Very true Sue. And it's always helpful to learn from other members who are so much more proactive with social media than I am.

I'm sure you will do well when you get you SM accounts set up :)

Thank you, Valerie. I am so grateful to learn from you and other extremely helpful members. Everyone is so generous with their knowledge and expertise.

It is my belief that WA is unique with regard to sharing knowledge. Never before did I find such generosity. Personally, I get great pleasure from sharing what I learned over a long period working online. Prior to WA I experienced great feelings of isolation when trying to find solutions with online marketing. Saving others from similar experiences is very rewarding.

So that's my story Sue, and you are more than welcome.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Thank you, Valerie. I wish you a great weekend as well.

I consider Google + as a good way to get Google's attention, as with YouTube (the search engine is huge for YouTube and it is owned by Google)...

So when added to other more active social platforms it helps get the word out across the web about whatever it is you are promoting...

Hard to get much traction, so I spread my social efforts between Quora, Twitter, Google+, Facebook (groups and fan pages), Tumblr, YouTube, and tentatively, Reddit...

It does take a portion of my day to do this, but overall I am thinking long term with this, and know that not only will it help for SEO, but also helps build the brand...

Cheers!
Dave : )

Thanks very much for your response Dave. That is very helpful information.

From what you say, I can see there is a need to spread one's effort more widely. Time for me to make a plan!

Thanks again :)

I agree that Facebook has more active users. That being said, I have some blogs that I posted on Google+ that immediately moved to page one on a keyword Google search. Just wondering ... why wouldn't those who write the programs for Google ranking be biased toward Google + or is all this a coincidence?

That was a good result with your post appearing on page one after being posted on G+. If I could see just one event similar to that, I would have some belief in G+
I don't understand about those who write the programs Steve. It's all a bit of mystery.
Thanks so much for your comment Steve. I appreciate it :)

I have not used my google plus for a few years but now have good quality blogs compared to then.

My blogs were on page 1 then.

Now I cannot find my blogs anywhere in google now a days.

I am trying to work out how to get my good blogs on google plus but when I put them in the photos become numbers.

All the pictures and links are gone.

The writing becomes all crammed up.

They are not spaced like this little blog.

That doesn't sound good Tom. I haven't had that problem.
I do hope you find a solution for your blogs on Google Plus.

Same with me but working on it.

Thanks very much Tom. I'm pleased to know it's not just me.
I wish you success with your G+ account.

Hi Valerie

It's not just you! Google Plus doesn't have nearly the same number of daily active users as Facebook.

Thanks for your comment Jeff. As much as I am happy for others to succeed, it's good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.

I've wondered about a FaceBook page for a website promoting affiliate marketing, WA in particular! Do you think that would work Jeff.? I think of FaceBook as more of a social platform!

I think so!

I haven't tried that yet. I've only created Facebook pages for a couple businesses so far and a community. I think there's a lot of people out there that only want to interact via Facebook.

I did set up a page for the affiliate marketing website in FaceBook but have not published it. No doubt I need to take action, and that way I'll learn the pros and cons, or otherwise.

Facebook is such a popular platform. Actually, Rosalind Gardner, who is one of the top Super Affiliates, has a Facebook page I follow her on. The great thing about Rosalind is that she shares who experiences, such as her travels and daily activities. I'm sure that has helped her to be the amazingly successful business woman and affiliate marketer that she is!
