Following On From my Question about Social Media Icons
A big 'Thank You' to everyone who responded to my question posted yesterday about Social Media Icons.
I have spent the last few hours researching the plugins mentioned in the responses.
It is now time for me to make a Big Confession, and plead forgiveness! Lol!!
This is the worst of having multiple websites. The icons I am unhappy with are Get Social, not Ultimate Social Media. Get Social plugin is installed on a website other than the one I’m concerned about.
To get back to responses I received yesterday; some were from members who use Ultimate Social Media and are pleased with it. This made me look further at the plugin settings and find that it has several good features, and good reviews.
My decision is to use Ultimate Social Media plugin on all my websites
I hope this helpful to those members seeking advice on plugins.

Nice to hear from you too. I find that with time the writing flows more and my website posts become in general a bit longer.
My monthly WA post will be around the 15th, I have it in my head but have not started writing yet.
We have put on the floor heating as at night time it is getting cold, around 5C. All the best.

Sorry Valerie about the late reply and I didn't see your other blog yesterday but I was going to say I use social warfare on my sites and I like it very much. I can see you have picked what you are going to use though. xxxx

Valerie, thanks for the update on your desicion.
I use Ultimate Social Media, but I don't like the fact that in order to share my website's page on FB (as an example), I have to click on "share" pop-up, which shows up above the FB icon. I prefer that "share" would be the only function of the button. I have only "Share my blog with friends (on Facebook)" checkbox checked in the plugin's settings. "Visit my Facebook page at: ..." is not checked, but it still takes me to my FB page if I click on the icon itself.

Julia, You can have just "share" with you social media plugin.
I'm attaching an image where you can see blank boxes indicated with the red arrows.
If you uncheck those two boxes you will have just 'share'.

I'm sorry to learn of that Julia.
This works for me. I suspect it is either another plugin that is stopping this action, or maybe your theme. Probably not the theme!
I would send a ticket to Site Support. You are entitled to have the best available. I'm sure Site Support will help you.
It's good to know that it works for you. I now know that it's not just a bug in this plugin. I'll try to fix it then with or without Site Support. Thank you!

No, it isn't Marion.
The one on the schnauzer site is the one I'm not keen on. It's interesting that you like it. It probably is okay, but I can't tell whether the icons lead to follows or shares.
Ultimate Social Media is the one on my affiliate site. For some reason I got these two plugins muddled up.
I decided, for now to stay with Ultimate Social Media and to be more diligent about its performance.
I'm not good with social media at present, but I really want to improve in an attempt to get more traffic to this site.
