Authors Name and Date of Published Post Should They Be Included?

I am in the process of updating posts on my affiliate website. Many posts on this website date from September 2015 onwards.

Looking at posts on Page 1 of Google, some do not include the author’s name and date of publication.

Some do include these details, and others show a revised date.

I have the choice of not showing the author's name and published date, but I don’t know whether that is the best option with this website.

Also it is not an option to change the date of first publication, due to comments.

Many months ago I asked a similar question in regard to updating my WA review. Some advice was to show the revision date.

However, my theme does not provide for a revised date. I can show a revision date by typing it into the post, but that will give the post an unprofessional appearance.

As much as I do not wish to add another plugin to this site, I am wondering if a plugin is the answer. If so, can anyone share that information, please?

In some WA training it is recommended to write another post rather than updating. But, information on many of these posts does not need updating. The reason why I am doing this is to improve the word content.

I would appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Thank you.

I have often thought about the date as people may see an old date and think it's out of date so to speak. I think no date is best but the author is important because it is your brand.

Thanks for you message, Karen. Yes, is true about the author. I would need to see if I can manipulate the css code to exclude just the date.

It is easy to do. Go to general settings and then choose date format as custom. Delete what's there and leave blank. Go to time format and do the same. Update and you will see when it is published but it won't be on your posts or pages.

Karen, thank you very much for your help. I thought I knew all there was to know about WordPress. It just shows that learning never stops.
I am truly grateful to you, as I spent so many hours yesterday on that problem.

Enjoy your day.

I saw a training on this but it showed that you had to change css. Very complicated but I knew it was so much easier. I may do a quick alternative training. No need to over complicate things.
Glad I could be of help

A training is a great idea Karen.
It will be appreciated by many, I'm sure :)

Most of my content is not time sensitive so I don't have dates or author on any posts.

Well that's a thought Marion.
I don't have dates or author on my Schnauzer site.

No doubt, I can remove these from the affiliate site too. Nothing changes that quickly, as in 'over night'!

I've spent hours on this. Installed plugins that don't work on my site, even though reviews say the opposite.

I'm tired of wasting time. So will do as you do and remove the dates and times.

Thanks very much for responding to my post. Much appreciated :)

If, author is other than you?..
I'd have to give credit!...My, Bible,

Thanks for your feedback Barb.

I not so concerned about the author, as it is me. But I am concerned about the date of publication.
