Amazon Associates Disclaimer

Last Update: September 22, 2017

This post is in response to recent enquiries about the Amazon affiliate disclaimer.

The following paragraph is the disclaimer:

Mywebsite.com
is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Please note: If you are an affiliate of the Amazon Associates program you are required by Amazon to display the Disclaimer in a prominent place on every page or post of your website.

If your website has a sidebar which is the same on every page or post, the Disclaimer can be entered there.

The Disclaimer can be entered into the footer of your website.

Wherever the Disclaimer is entered it must be clearly visible to visitors on your website.

Enjoy your wonderful life. It is precious!

Understanding the importance of the Amazon disclaimer (Don't want to get excommunicated, do I?)...I was dutifully placing it on every product review page but not on the other pages and posts.

Sometimes, when I uploaded a review page, I forgot to add it and would catch it somewhere in the future...during one of my proofing times.

Then...finally...light bulb! I grew a brain and put it into my footer so that now, it is on every page...forever...and ever. And, I no longer have to worry about being anal about it!

Lord knows...there are so many other things to worry about...spelling, grammar, making sure the "enable comments" is checked on pages, accurate and viable internal and external links, etc.

Well done Bob. You will now be safe from 'online detectives'.

And, yes, there are very many things to worry about. That's what I call the fun of owning a website!

All the best.

Yup Valerie, I've seen this for a year or two but still haven't seen one website that honors this requirement. I don't think Amazon is checkin' too close... (-;

As the saying goes Randy - It is better to be sure than sorry!

There are many websites that display the Disclaimer, mine for one!

All the best :)

Thank you Valerie. There are so many things to keep track of when running a website. This is very important. Trying to remember everything is giving me a bit of a headache.

I wish there was an easy to read master checklist somewhere for putting up an affiliate website - it would make this business a lot easier.

Thank you, as always, for your helpful posts. :-)

You're very welcome Wendy.

I agree with you about a checklist, as there is certainly much to be done with an affiliate site.

Thank you so much for you comment :)
