I'm excited!
Hello all!
I am brand new here and looking forward to learning and eventually earning. I am a burned out dog groomer who is a partner in a salon, and ready to get out. It's been 10 years, and I am in need of a way out. For my health, both physical and mental, I need a way to earn money with less stress.
In all honesty, I was initially turned off by the name of this site, simply because of the word "wealthy". Being wealthy has never been on my list of things I want out of life. I just want to have time to do the things I love, and spend time with the people I love. I want to enjoy life while I am young (I am 44). I am not opposed to being wealthy, but I am not into material things, a "dream" house, car or vacation, name brands, or impressing people. I want to live simply. And I also simply want to be able to support myself and family, pay my bills, and have time and energy to do more than just the things required to survive. Currently I spend most of my time working, or recovering from working.
I went to college, worked for a while and then earned a Master's degree. I worked 8 more years and decided that wasn't what I wanted to do either. I am not flaky, I am just a little slower to find my calling. I also believe that you don't have to make a living doing what you love. If you CAN do that, fabulous. But not everyone is able to do this. Sometimes you just need a job to pay the bills so that you can have an actual life. I can't take credit for this quote and I don't know who said it, but I use it all the time and I wholeheartedly endorse it: "You have a job so that you can have a life, not the other way around".
I am not opposed to putting time and effort into a job, and I am excited to work, but at this point I just need something different from what I am doing. Ten years is a long time to do what I have been doing, and I am over it. I could elaborate further, but I will save it. Just wanted to get started!
