Who has a problem with the training?

Everyday I start out with good intentions.....I think quickly reply to emails, read blogs, maybe write a post and then seriously get into the training and build my website.

What happens? I do the first three and then I click on to the training....cert or bootcamp!

I think yes bootcamp....money instantly...rich within weeks and I'm free!

I rub my hands together and gleefully start the bootcamp training.....Course 1, lesson 4 and then it happens...a tag flashes across my screen...someone has liked your comment...I'll just quickly look at it and then come back....oooh someone has written a post about getting 1,000 more followers...I'll just take a quick sticky beak! Someone has solved an SEO problem..I need that information (As if I knew what an SEO is!) What's that! A red flag! Someone has sent me a private message, I had better check that out because I am sure it's an emergency, why else would someone send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE...it practically screams at me! Then someone has commented on one of my posts.....and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on it goes....never mind, tomorrow I'll really focus on the training, I have all day....hahahahahahahaha! (Yes, that is a hysterical laugh).

Do know why I can't focus? I do.......it sucks to be a beginner! It's like learning an instrument...it only begins to be fun when you know what to do and how to do it! It's the same here....there is no getting away from it you have to do the training, follow along until you get good at it...oooh I think a message flashed across my screen...sorry guys I have to check it out and I think there is a private message waiting for me, but wait someone has commented on my post....still I can do the training tomorrow I have all day,,,,,

We don't have all day because tomorrow will be the same as today...we are very busy people and we are busy with all the wrong stuff which doesn't lead to financial independence.........

Don't get me wrong, I love all the distractions but it ain't gonna pay for my dinner!

Be thankful, you are having fun! It sucks to be a beginner!

I love your post, oh wait the dogs need to go out, anyway, I know what you mean? I have my shirt on inside out? Get a life and quit staring at my tags.....zzzzzzzz, oh yeah, I was talking about you getting distracted,,,,,,,,Actually I like distractions, because when I come back to them they are fresh and I can start all over.........

LOL Liz....I haven't even touched on family distractions...that can be your domain?

sounds good!!

LOL!!! WA distractions keep us sane. It's a good distraction 'though if we know how to control it, he..he..Whatever we learn from each other, may it be an inspiration or a technical matter, is a good thing if we can apply it in our online teaching business website. I said teaching because that should be the aim of our website and not purely in making money. Helping and teaching people just like what we are doing here for each other. Helping, giving inspiration and making someone else's day!
I had a good laugh at your post which reminded me to continue on finishing my post about what you suggested for me before. To expand my "About me" page, which I should be doing right now but was distracted by your post. LOL :D
See the good thing of being distracted? It also helps us to remember what we have to do next, hahaha...Thank you, Michael, for sharing this wonderful distractive post.
It reminded us of what to do next. Have a happy distraction-free day!
Adel :)

Thank you Adel you have brought a big smile to my face and I apologise for taking you away from your 'real' work...now get back to it! :)

You're always welcome, Michael.
See, you distracted me again! LOL :-D

The apology was for you appearing this time to see my comment, the first time is your responsibility...lol! :)

like it - i will have to gack through all of your blogs and comment - that'll keep you out of the market!!!!
if i do that with an autoresponder then i can carry on with the training!!!!
it is difficult - it is like allowing the phone to ring - notmany people can do it, uh oh there's the ping of the mobile another text, another messeage - hah no more training for you today!!
schedule play time - stay focused
maybe we need a distraction free mode for the training, along with a box to tick if you want to close off blog comments?
stay focused
have fun
phil
stopped you training?

I am figuring out a way how to make money with distractions....there has to be a way, so many people are. By the way if you comment on all of my blogs, I will be distracted but I will have fun.

You have made my day Phil....what if I do that to you? Hmmmm now there's a thought......hahahahahaha (There's that hysterical laugh again!)

i'm lucky i have other training!! i don't need to be on here all day!!
i choose when to - oh hang on a min.......
oh back now!! yeah not distracted at all!!!!
have fun
phil

You crack me up Phil...now where did I put that training tape?

Haha Michael, I struggled for a long time like this. I had to become so strict with myself and have a set routine where absolutely nothing else was allowed but the task at hand. However, recently I've really slipped with it! Yesterday was horrendous, I was driving myself nuts with how distracted I was and after (literally) hours of being distracted by various things - I had next to nothing to show for it! No completed post, no completed training, nothing that I'd set out to do had been done and the same the previous day!! Today I AM ON IT!!! No excuses lol. Good luck today!!

I feel for you Nat! Especially when you had it all going for you and now you have fallen off of the band wagon....still as they say, climb back up and have another shot....cheers, Michael

Yeh tell me about it lol.... I'm on it.... getting there slowly today but things are happening :/

Excellent...I am glad to hear that!

Hi Michael,

Yes, it can be tough to stay focused...I think we all experience this to one degree or another...Personally, I have learned to shut myself off from most of them by physically and literally "closing the door."

Even that won't save you if you have a smartphone close by and turned on (beep, whistle, pop, flash, etc.)...Drives me crazy, but it still is there, tempting me, inviting me...

Just as right now, for me, when I stop by WA...Once you get started down a path of distraction with commenting on interesting posts here at the WA website, it can suck an hour from you QUICK!

Best of luck as you battle your way to online profits!

Dave : )

I wish it was only an hour Dave....it'll be worse when it's VR!

LOL that is so true, Michael. That is why I sometimes have to ignore my WA family and get on with training, looking for answers to problems I encounter and posting on my site. There are still so many things I don't understand and a problem arises that I cannot figure out no matter how I try. That's when I usually say "(expletive) it", I need my WA family.

Love it Lisa....but I am getting that you have it handled!

OMG Michael...it's only my second day on here and I'm going through the same thing. I'm all over the place. I almost wish that when you're in a lesson, everything else is not visible so you can focus. Thanks for sharing this, I thought I was the only one going through this. Ok, I'm going to try going back to my lesson. Good Luck Michael! I'm sure we'll come out on top! Love this WA community!!

You gotta love this community....but at some point you gotta make some money...thanks for dropping by Rose!

Hi, Michael, you have done exceedingly well 9.5 weeks and you will be an ambassador, the social side of WA can become quite intoxicating, it does unfortunately take time. At the end of the day if we are to create a successful online business we need to find that balance, between being social and taking action, the training here at WA is very subtle.
I have a few defined projects on the go and currently I am working hard out to bridge my knowledge gaps I have relied heavily on the WA community to do help me do this getting involved is a good way to pay things back, but when is much too much. This is probably old school but I now run with a journal A4, have a plan for the week and break tasks down on a daily basis at the end of the week most tasks are done, if not they are at the top of the list for next week. taking this path has helped to keep me on track, so community engagemnet occurs through out the day in batches along with working on tasks and everything else , there is something catartic about crossing a task off a list. I have probably gone off topic sorry about that. For many coming to online marketing it is a matter of building something new into an already busy and hectic life schedule st some point we simply run out of hours in the day to fit stuff in, there is a need to rejig. At the end of the day like you say don't forget to have fun and if we are persistent we will arrive at the front door of our suceess, only hope I have enough energy left to open the latch and step inside lol.

You will have more than enough energy to open the latch and step inside...you have come too far now...lol! I like your task journal, I am assuming this you write by hand? If not what app are you using? Crossing things off a list is cathartic, and looking back over your lists lets you know how productive you have been...then you don't feel like you haven't accomplished anything when you have! 6.42857142857143 weeks according to my calculator, from the 5th May....lol! Or are you saying I will be an ambassador in 9.5 weeks?

Thank you immensely for your insight Alexander! It has helped me to look at my operating procedures!

I was using google sheets but reverted to using a pen and paper, as I work through the day I add side notes and annotations old school but it seems to work, especially when you come across those absolute gems, I use a pen and pencil. I have really struggled to get a rhythm going whereby I feel comfortable with my work rate like the last 6 months and counting only just starting to get there now. So it becomes a catch 22 the community provides so much additional knowledge and inspiration, but then we need to concentrate on creating a business which will enable us to lead the lifestyle we desire, apologies, for the long responses.Probably 10 weeks from the 5th of May.

Lol...sure, why not 10 weeks? It just goes to show the pen is mightier than the keyboard! You can respond for as long as you like...I've got all day remember... :)

Michael, you have described a reality that we live every day, besides all these WA's activities, we must add those that are related to our personal lives, for which we need time. I think Myra's comment on this Post, is very timely, I have to implement it. Thanks for this nice Post!

Thanks Rosa...be careful of what you delete! I know as your time becomes more limited you have to cross things off or become more efficient....probably for me I will be reading less posts but always read comments, posts of successes and likes. The posts I may not get around to if I don't have the time are......not sure yet! I read every post that comes into my mailbox so far. I have noticed though I don't get all the posts from people I follow.

Michael, thanks for your advice. I don't delete WA's emails without reading it first. I should be more specific when I referred to Myra's comment is the last paragraph that would follow.
"A suggestion is to list your priorities, stay focused, and know that the WA community is there when you need it. And just make helpful comments when you can, so that you pass it on and pay it forward for the help you receive. Hope this helps. Hang it there and have fun!"

Have a nice day!

Thanks Rosa...I am glad you are like that, it does make you special...I always have fun, it's people like you who make it fun...thanks, Michael

Some days I have more time for the WA emails and some days, I just need to focus on my own website. We don't need to answer every, single WA email. This WA community is there when we need it.

When I do post a WA blog, if I only get a few comments, I am happy. I don't need everyone's replies or comments.

Some days, I just have to delete most of the WA emails, it's not because I don't like everyone, but I need to stay focused.

A suggestion is to list your priorities, stay focused, and know that the WA community is there when you need it. And just make helpful comments when you can, so that you pass it on and pay it forward for the help you receive. Hope this helps. Hang it there and have fun!

Thanks Myra...I unfortunately have bad habits but I definitely have fun!

Wow! You have good will power!! I could never do that. In fact I never delete anything. I really admire that!

I never delete because I am getting quicker at it now...I can do 100 emails in less than an hour now...I'm sure it's going to get quicker and the reason is when I build up my other sites I need to be able to respond quickly to keep them coming back...this is my training ground.

Well, I did too much deleting. I deleted all my photos out of 'media' in my WP website, thinking that I didn't need them there anymore. I was just trying to keep things tidy and simple. Ummm. . .

Just a warning to everyone, keep all your photos in media or else they won't show up on your website.

Luckily, I keep all my photos in Dropbox, as a backup.

Yes media folders have to be kept full because webs point to the photo folder and not create another copy of the photo. Also if you delete emails too fast you can lose your followers too...

Myra, you definitely have the correct advice for the WA community!!
