If your Website doesn't inspire you, then you're in trouble.
Sssscccccrrrraaaatccchhhh! Yes, I am pulling out my 2 step soapbox which Jeannie so kindly repaired after our last sermon.
If it doesn't keep you awake at night...
You may need to rethink your strategy. Sometimes what you think will make you money has nothing to do with the niche you are in.
Your niche needs to get your juices flowing and inspire you to wake up early in the morning and work late into the night, otherwise you are doing a job (Okay, that might be overkill, but you get the idea).
Do you look at your website and think how you are going to evolve it? Are you wanting to get your work out to your audience and can't wait to send everyone a link?
These are things you need to consider.
Online marketing is no picnic in the park and it's a lot harder if your niche doesn't inspire you.
You may think that you are too busy but we are never too busy to do the things we love. Make sure you love your website or you will be earning a living.
I think that to work in a niche you're good at is good but if you are also passionate about it that's better.

If it doesn't thrill you it simply is not your passion, even if it passes all of the appropriate "will it make me money' tests.
That was a shot heard across the ocean! I am building my passion and I know it will make the revenue I want!

Unfortunately Your passion doesn't always march your audience Michael. The less passionate niches often produce the most revenue! Advice I was given was pin down a more boring $ heavy niche first then involve yourself in a marginalized passionate hobby niche!
I know that the advice given is to do what we are good at and not what we are passionate about but my thinking is that we need both together to really be successful or it just becomes a job.
Usually, we are good at our jobs but not necessarily passionate about it. Time for a change.

My site has grown on me :)
At first I wasn't excited nearly as much as I am now that I can see the potential and can almost touch success... it's almost at my fingertips.
At least that's what it feels like so I'm very excited each morning and dream about my site often LOL, is that bizarre?! :p

Most of the time I work on it in the evenings after my day job and just about all weekend. I love seeing it evolve, even though its a slow process. If it turns into a job, then I'll move on to something else.
