Mission Accomplished 90 Day Couch Affiliate Challenge
This post was due last Sunday. Been hectic busy but finally here it is.
Over the last 3 months I embarked on a 90 day challenge to get myself off the couch and lose some extra weight as well as get active. I had realized that I couldn't fit my big wedding suit and on measuring myself I realised I now weighed 100kg yet my BMI index recommends a weight of 70-75kgs. So on 1 November 2016 I took on a personal challenge to shed off the extra 30kgs.

I split the challenge into a 3 phase program of 30 days each. It comprised of a weight loss diet with a 7 days on diet and 7 days back to normal consumption pattern.
I am happy to announce that it has been a very fruitful journey, not without hurdles but successful in the end.
He is my journey through it
The Phases of the Couch Affiliate Challenge
Phase 1 November - Get off the couch
I was weighing 100kgs at the beginning. I started doing my 7 days on and 7 days off diet as well as a 45min Zumba session every morning for 6 days a week. I lost 8kgs in the 30 days down to 92kgs. During the process I then learnt more about weight loss and realised that losing 30kgs in 3 months may be too much too quick. I decided to slow down my progress and lose half of my target. I set out to lose 15kg rather, and go down to 85kgs instead.
Phase 2 December - Steady As We Go
I continued with my diet program. I started running 5km outside the house everyday. About a third of way into the challenge I injured my ankle and had to wear a brace for the following 6 weeks. This spelt the end of my planned exercise program. But I decide to continue with the diet. Towards the end of the 30day I had lost a further 4kgs taking me to 88kgs but fluctuated and settled at 90kg.
Phase 3 January - Next Level Challenge
In the final phase I was still in the ankle brace so it was only diet based. My weight fluctuated up and down around 88-90kgs. I decided to do my diet for two weeks on and one week off and I lost 1kg a week on average. With 3 days to go to the end of the challenge I reached my goal of 85kgs. I am holding steady there around 85/86kg since the end of the 90 days on Sunday.
Results
I am more than happy with my achievement. I have had to adjust my belt one notch back and most of my clothes are now loose. Everyone I meet mentions the weight loss. The belly has reduced noticeably but there is till work to be done.
I am now so used to the new diet that I keep eating like I am on the diet. It is also shareable with family at home so it is easy continue on a less strict regime. I will still work towards getting down to just about 80kg over the next couple of months with no hurry.
Thank you all for the support during this journey. I could not have done it without you cheering me on. You are a great bunch of friends here at WA. Thanks for allowing me the space to share it and benefit from your love.
By the way, I bought myself a cream doughnut to celebrate.
And the games are now done!
