Why Do You Care ?

Festive greetings to you all, oh hang on, that ship has sailed. Let's go for a more stately approach. Good morning everyone, how are we all this morning ? Now, before we get into it, the whole 'why do you care' thing, I may not finish this post until later this afternoon, which would obviously negate my initial welcome. Just clarifying it for you, save much head scratching ensuing.

Have you all settled into the new year yet ? I'm not sure if I have. We're nine days in, resolutions are still in place, made some changes but I still don't feel like I've got into my stride. Take today, it's Avon packing day and normally we would have already done this. This weekend is the first delivery weekend of 2020 and will be followed on Monday by a six-hour round trip, dropping one son back at University. We've also just had an 'eighteenth' birthday going on, with another two birthdays coming up in the next couple of weeks. Two hospital appointments and if memory serves me right, there will be tax submissions at the end of this month.

Does life not realise we have work to do ? Not quite connected but it does remind me of a 'quip' that used to be bandied around when I was in retail and it used to get a bit full on. Work would be much easier if it weren't for customers. Obviously it was meant in a 'tongue-in-cheek' way.

The delayed finishing of post may in part be due to a dog collection happening this morning. My wife left the house around half five, collecting Sam on her way to pick up four dogs that have just come over from Portugal. They are certainly well travelled. One them had been found tied up in a field and had been there for a few days. It's not worth spending too much time thinking about the 'why' you'll just end up going round in circles and it never makes any sense, it's just the way it is.

OK, back to the title. Sometimes it's easy to fall into the trap of being influenced by what others do and by doing so we lose focus in regard to ourselves. Sure, we can aspire to others, take a leaf out of someone else's book but that doesn't mean we need to start looking inward and making unrealistic comparisons. We are all our own people and as such should be happy with who we are. There are way to many factors that can have a bearing on anothers life and how they are who they are.

Living our lives vicariously through others is no way to be. We should be happy in our skin, no

matter how ill-fitting it may seem at times. I love you all for who you are but I don't want to be you. If we were all the same it would be a pretty 'beige' looking world. You can do things that I will never be able to do and you know what ? That makes me happy. I hear and read stories of various exploits and achievements that others have done and I smile. It doesn't make me want to go out and try and do the same, that wouldn't be me.

Rejoice in anothers success and at the same time be content that you are living your life on your terms. You are unique and bring your own special quality to the party.

There was more to this, that I wanted to say but I think I'll stop here, as it has nice positive vibe to it, in my eyes anyway.

Remind me to ask about encyclopaedias, as I had a fun thought for some random content. That's for another day. The dog run is now concluded and it's time to get packing.

Have a day to remember my friends.

Twack Romero.

Now that’s the ultimate question, “does life not realize we have work to do”?
Here’s another subtle point I noticed...out of 4 children 3 have birthdays in January. April must be great fun!
Wish I had learned the bit about being comfortable in my own skin years ago. Prior to age 45 everything was great, but no one warned me about all the sagging and bagging that happens after about age 50!
It’s all good, as long as one is “looking at the grass from the green side”, as my Grandpa used to say.
Lovely days ahead to you,
KyleAnn

That made me laugh KyleAnn, I'd never thought of April being a fun month but I suppose the numbers don't lie.
Still one of my all time favourite quotes:

“looking at the grass from the green side”

Definitely where we should always be looking from.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Twack,
We are all unique, and often look past it to, sadly! Time has taught me that it is time itself that makes me rich! Content is a word I am beginning to enjoy more and more.

“Rejoice in another's success” is heartwarming!

In life I am in a place where even though what is in front of me is not as long as what is behind me, doesn’t mean it is not going to be the best yet!

I enjoy your post, they are grounding!

Thanks Twack!

Gerry 😊

Hi Gerry, thank you indeedly. 'Time' there's a whole other book of thoughts waiting to be written.
The best is yet to come, sounds like the best possible view of the future.

I'm with you on this. Does life not realise we have work to do? That's what I'm thinking. My new article for my baby website has been waiting for the final finish for 2 days and I can't get to it having so many other things to do.
At least my skin is not ill-fitting :) Life is good

That's one of my favourite 'go to' sayings Lenka. "Life is good" becasue at the end of the day, no matter how you spin it, it is good and I'd rather be living it, than not.

No, Twack, I wouldn't want to be you. I know nothing about fixing cars. My life fits me well. Even the cat thinks so.

On the other hand, it's entertaining to read about your adventures. You can keep us entertained, my friend. Maybe we'll pick up a stray idea or two along the way.

I'm sure you'd soon get the hang of it Fran, it's like proper cutlery use, start at the outer most point and work your way in, replace as necessary and repeat the process in reverse order.
